The Art of Creation: A Meditative Process
For me, creation is a form of meditation where stillness meets flow. Step inside my studio to see how simple materials like paste and pigment transform into stories, layer by quiet layer.
The process begins with a simple blend. From there, lines wander into form, paste meets pattern, and the art grows, layer by layer. You can see how each layer begins to breathe, coming to life on its own.
Before the colors and textures, there is just a vision waiting to bloom. This shows the very first step, where I transfer the initial pencil sketch onto the canvas, laying the foundation for the artwork.
Here, I am building roots layer by layer. This textured tree symbolizes growth, light, and new beginnings. The process of applying the paste with a piping tool is slow and deliberate, much like meditation.
My hands at work, turning simple materials into something that speaks. This is a moment of deep focus, where the outside world fades and only the texture under my palette knife matters.
This piece, "Cosmic Currents," shows the entire journey from a blank canvas to a finished work. I start by piping the textured lines, then add layers of color, and finally enhance the details to bring out the magic.
Every artwork starts as a quiet idea before it is ready to shine. This video shows the initial pencil drawing on a large canvas, followed by the meticulous application of textured paste, bringing the lines into three dimensions.
Art in motion. Here you can see the finishing touches on a textured piece, where I add subtle color washes and highlights to create depth and movement in the final artwork.
About this collection
You won’t see me rushing to a finish line. Instead, you’ll see me piping textured lines slowly, waiting for each layer to breathe before adding the next. This methodical pace is not just for technique—it is how I ensure the final piece holds the same calm energy I felt while making it.
My work is built on the philosophy of flow. When I work with texture paste, sculpting tools, and upcycled paper, I am not just creating art; I am externalizing internal states. This is why I host workshops and retreats—to help others do the same. Whether we are in a studio in South Mumbai or at a quiet cliff-side estate in Goa, the goal is always the same: to slow down and listen.
We use professional materials like heavy-body acrylics, palette knives, and sometimes even gold leaf, not to achieve perfection, but to engage in a sensory conversation with the medium. My process is intuitive. I start with a simple pencil sketch or a feeling, and from there, the work grows organically. If you have ever felt like you wanted to try art but feared it wasn't 'good enough,' know that in my sessions, the process is the only destination. We focus on breathing through the hesitation, letting the lines wander where they want to, and understanding that every layer—even the ones we cover up—is part of the story. It is about finding a new way to handle your emotions through the simple act of making something with your hands.
