Textured Mixed-Media Art Gallery
A glimpse into my creative journey, where discarded paper and rough textures evolve into visual stories. Explore my signature collections, including the Navarasa emotional series and upcycled sculptural installations.
Every emotion has a face. This is my "Navarasa Collection," where I explore the nine fundamental emotions, from *Karuna* (compassion) to *Vira Rasa* (courage), giving each feeling a physical form.
This series, "Chaos & Order," began with fragmented pieces of upcycled paper. It's a reflection of the journey from scattering to structure, from raw feeling to a balanced and harmonious form.
There is beauty in the breakdown. My art doesn't hide the cracks; it celebrates them. These raw, imperfect folds of upcycled paper show that within disorder lies a fragile kind of beauty.
Who knew old paper had this much attitude? This is one of 16 unique creations from a series, each sculpted from upcycled materials. It's proof that sustainable art can be unapologetically bold.
This piece, "The Enchanted Abyss," is a part of me. It shaped me as much as I shaped it. Made from upcycled paper and mixed media, it explores the deep, creative energy that we all hold within.
About this collection
Because my work uses heavy-body acrylics and upcycled paper, each piece has a distinct tactile quality that photos can only hint at. When you choose a work for your home, consider the primary lighting in your space, as these physical textures create shifting, dynamic shadows throughout the day.
My gallery isn't just about display; it's about translating emotion into form. Each collection here represents a specific season of my creative life.
The Navarasa Series
This collection explores the nine core emotions of the Indian aesthetic tradition. When I created these pieces, the challenge was to move beyond representational art and find the raw physical manifestation of feelings like Karuna (compassion) or Vira Rasa (courage). I used heavy-body media to ensure that the depth of the emotion matches the weight of the material on the canvas.
Chaos & Order
My installation work, particularly 'Chaos & Order,' is born from discarded materials. I find something poetic in taking fragmented, upcycled paper and finding structure within the disorder. These pieces are not perfect; they are meant to show the cracks and the resilience of the material. Whether it's the 60-inch 'Enchanted Abyss' or smaller sculptural series, the intent remains the same: to find balance in the unpredictable.
Commissioning Your Piece
Many of the works you see here are part of broader explorations, but I often create custom pieces based on the same philosophy. If you are looking for art that feels alive—art that catches the light and changes as you move through your room—we can discuss the materials and textures that align with your space. My process relies on patience, layering, and letting the work grow until it feels complete, so these are not mass-produced items, but stories crafted one layer at a time.
Shruti Jhaveri
Hi, I'm Shruti. I believe art is about translating internal feelings into something you can actually touch. Whether it's a series on the nine human emotions or a sculpture made from recycled paper, I create to find a bit of stillness in the chaos.
