My Philosophy: The Soul Behind the Art

Art is my meditation and my way to process life. Here is the heartbeat behind the canvas, from my creative process to the stories that drive my brushstrokes.

In this podcast, I talk about how social media can provoke anxiety. We see what's happening in others' lives and start comparing, thinking 'Uski life mein yeh chal raha hai aur tumhari life mein woh nahi chal raha hai'. It’s a classic case of 'door ke dhol suhane hote hain', and painting helps me pull back to my own story.

When people ask why I paint, the simplest answer is that it's a form of meditation for me. It’s how I connect with the divine. This video shows me in my element, finding peace and focus through my creative process.

The art I create is how I'm feeling or dreaming. It’s my way of channeling emotions and taking care of my heart. This is a quiet, reflective moment during my painting process, where I'm just listening to what the canvas needs.

This is a personal video about the journey from no one to someone. It’s not about what others say you are, but about who you envision yourself becoming. For me, art is a continuous journey of growth, determination, and self-love.

I find fascinating connections between creativity and other spiritual practices like astrology. Here, I explore how the placement of Venus can influence a person's artistic talents. It’s all part of the same universal, creative energy.

Just an artist, finding my way through color and canvas. This image captures the vibe of being lost in a world of creativity, surrounded by the purple glow of inspiration.

About My Philosophy: The Soul of the Art

When you see my work, you aren't just looking at paint on a canvas—you're seeing a journal entry. I don't paint for perfection; I paint to process the noise, whether it's anxiety, joy, or just a fleeting thought that needs a home. If you're looking for art that feels like a conversation rather than a static decoration, let's talk.

I often get asked if painting is just a hobby. For me, it is much more—it is how I breathe easy. My style leans into surrealism mixed with raw emotion, using oil paints for their depth or fluid acrylics when I need movement. I believe that art should survive the years, which is why every original piece, from the small 4x4 desk canvases to the 3ft gallery pieces, is sealed with non-porous gloss varnish to fight off dust and UV fading.

My studio is in Delhi NCR, but my pieces have traveled across India. Whether you are drawn to the playful nostalgia of my 'Koi Fish' series or the bold, moody contrast of 'Whisky & Tea', each painting is a fragment of my own journey from no one to someone. I don't just sell art; I share the process. If you want a custom piece based on your own life story, I am happy to do a virtual session with you to assess wall lighting and fit before we even touch the brush. It is about finding that soul-to-soul connection with your space.

I’m Shruti, and for me, a blank canvas is just a space waiting for an honest feeling. Whether I’m teaching a workshop or layering oils for a commission, I’m just trying to make sense of the world one stroke at a time.
