A closer look at the details of a custom A3 pencil color sketch. Notice the delicate shading on the saree and the realistic texture of the jewelry, all achieved with careful layering of colored pencils.

A vibrant pencil color sketch celebrating the beautiful bond between a brother and sister. The bright yellow background makes their happy expressions pop, creating a joyful and personal piece of art.

Here you can see the original photo next to my finished pencil color sketch. My goal is always to elevate the memory, adding artistic warmth and detail while staying true to the original moment.

A custom mother-daughter portrait, seen here on my work desk. This 9x12 inch sketch was made with a full set of 72 Prismacolor pencils on smooth Strathmore paper to ensure the colors are bright and the art lasts a lifetime.

This portrait is a special commission where I combined two different photos of a beloved grandmother into one piece. Using Prismacolor pencils, I was able to merge the references to create a single, heartfelt tribute.

The final version of a custom color portrait, which took nearly 20 hours to complete. I worked to capture not just her smile, but also the soft light of the sunset and the texture of her jacket, creating a complete scene.

About Vibrant Color Portraits

Getting a colour portrait right is about patience, not just talent. For every piece, I use archival Strathmore Bristol paper and professional wax-based Prismacolor pencils to ensure your artwork stays vibrant for years. It is a slow, deliberate process of layering that takes anywhere from 8 to 20 hours to capture the true depth of your original photos.

How I Create Your Custom Portrait

Art is a form of devotion for me. When you commission a vibrant color portrait, you aren't just getting a drawing—you are getting hours of careful observation and layering.

The Process Every piece begins with your photographs. Whether it is a single portrait, a family memory, or even a shot where you need me to combine faces from different images into one cohesive scene, I start by focusing on the eyes and expression. I use a technique called burnishing with Prismacolor Premier pencils. This creates a solid, painterly look that eliminates the visible paper grain, giving the skin tones a natural, glowing finish.

Materials That Last I use imported Strathmore 400 Series Bristol Smooth paper. This is an archival-quality, heavy-weight surface that holds wax-based color beautifully and resists fading. Before shipping your artwork from my Delhi studio, I treat the surface to prevent wax bloom and maintain the richness of the colors.
