How I Work This Medium

I paint on the back side of the glass, so the colour shines through the front. Held against the light or the sky, the piece changes. That is the whole beauty of glass work.

Made to Order

This one I take as a custom request, so tell me the subject you want and I will work it out with you. I have done these as custom A5 pieces.

Since every glass piece is made to order, the final price depends on the size and the subject. Ask me and I will tell you properly.

Subjects That Suit It

High contrast subjects come out best. Radha Krishna and deity subjects are what I do most in glass. I have also joined two separate glass pieces of Radha and Krishna to make one complete image.

Timeline

Small sizes like A5 I can finish and send out within 2 to 3 days.

50% advance to book your slot, 50% after the work is completed.

Cancellation: if I have not started your artwork yet, I return the full amount you have paid. Once I have started work on it, the 50% advance is not returned.

I ship all over India, and across the border for international orders too.

Shipping within India is included in the price. No extra delivery charge on top for domestic orders.

Sizes I Work In

A4 (10 by 12 inches), A3 (12 by 16 inches), 16 by 20 inches, 20 by 24 inches, 2 by 3 feet, and 3 by 4 feet. The size is what mainly decides the price.

Base Materials

I use both cotton canvas and linen canvas. Professional grade Camel Artist series oil colours for rich pigmentation.

Scope of Work

Includes single or dual figure composition (for example a couple, or a deity) based on the photos you send. I can merge elements from different reference photos and customise backgrounds.

Process & Finish

Includes digital sketch approval before I apply any paint. Finished with a protective varnish layer to prevent dust accumulation and yellowing.

Packaging

Multi-layer packaging including butter paper, bubble wrap, and cardboard reinforcement.

Timeline

Oil work takes longer than sketches. Depending on the size and the detail, plan for anywhere up to around 14 days.

Technique & Texture

Mixed-media relief work using molding paste or air-dry clay to sculpt specific details (jewellery, trunks, fabric folds) before painting. Creates a tactile, embossed 3D projection.

Canvas Specification

Heavy-duty stretched canvas designed to support the additional weight of the texture medium and bonding agents.

Timeline Details

This one needs an extended production window, minimum 10 to 14 days, to allow for sculpting drying, paint curing, and varnishing. I cannot rush this part.

Complexity

Ideal for intricate subjects requiring depth, such as heavy bridal jewellery or detailed divinity art.

What This Is

I come to your venue and paint live, while the function is happening. Weddings, receptions, whatever occasions you will ask for. I set up my easel on the floor and work standing, so your guests can watch the painting come up through the evening.

What I Paint

The couple's portrait. Usually your varmala moment or your pheras, whatever you will ask for. This is the couple only, not the guests. I do it as a full standing portrait of the two of you.

The canvas size is what decides the price, not the number of people.

Materials

Oil painting on canvas, cotton or linen. Same professional Camel Artist oil colours I use for my studio commissions, nothing lighter for live work.

On the Day

I finish the painting at the venue and hand it over to you there itself. You do not have to wait for it to reach you later.

I come dressed for the occasion, not in working clothes. You will not have to seat me separately or explain me to your guests.

One thing to know - oil takes its own time to dry, so the painting will still be wet when you take it. Handle it carefully that night.

Travel

Travel charges are additional, over and above the painting price. I work these out according to your venue, so tell me where the function is and I will let you know.
