Advanced Yoga Practice & Inversions in Bengaluru
Exploring complex flows, arm balances, and inversions to build physical strength and mental clarity through safe, guided practice.
Chakrasana, or Wheel Pose, is a deep backbend that opens the entire front of the body and builds strength in the arms and legs. It requires both flexibility and power, representing a beautiful balance in the practice.
This is a wall supported variation of Scorpion Pose, an advanced inversion and backbend. Using the wall allows me to safely deepen the pose, working on spinal flexibility and shoulder stability over time.
A short Vinyasa flow sequence, moving through poses like Downward Dog and Upward Dog. This style of yoga links breath with movement, creating a meditative and dynamic practice.
This Acro Yoga pose, a form of partner yoga, requires immense trust, communication, and balance from both the base and the flyer. It is a testament to what can be achieved when we support each other.
Here I am demonstrating Sirsasana, the headstand, which is fantastic for improving blood circulation to the brain and enhancing focus. It’s a challenging inversion that also strengthens the shoulders and arms, a core part of my strength-building yoga sequences.
This is Kakasana, or Crow Pose, a powerful arm balance that builds incredible strength in your arms, wrists, and core. Mastering this asana improves focus and body control, which is a huge asset for any athlete looking to gain a competitive edge.
About Advanced Yoga Practice
Advanced yoga is about more than just the final pose. We focus on the building blocks, like shoulder stability and core engagement, to get you into arm balances and inversions safely. Instead of rushing, we use props or wall support to help your body understand the movement, ensuring you progress without injury.
When we move into advanced asanas, the goal is not to force the body into a shape but to understand the mechanics behind it. Whether you are working toward your first Sirsasana (Headstand) or trying to refine your Kakasana (Crow Pose), I break these down into manageable steps that respect your current level of mobility.
Why focus on advanced asanas?
- Arm Balances: Poses like Kakasana are excellent for building functional strength in your wrists, shoulders, and core, which translates to better stability in everyday movements.
- Inversions: Practicing inversions with wall support helps improve circulation and sharpens your focus, offering a different perspective on your balance.
- Backbends: Poses like Chakrasana open the front of the body and improve spinal flexibility, which is essential if you spend long hours at a desk.
My Approach to Advanced Flow
I keep the practice rooted in safety. We start with a thorough assessment of your posture and previous injuries, then integrate breathwork to help you manage the physical pressure. This is not about vanity; it is about building a practice that serves your life, whether you are an athlete looking for an edge or someone who simply wants to master a challenging pose. If you are in Bangalore, we can work on these progressions in your home or gym, ensuring you have the support you need to push boundaries without compromising on alignment.
