Yoga is a science of alignment, connecting ancient wisdom with modern biomechanics to bring balance to your mind and physical health.

Yoga is more than asanas; it is a life vision that says we are not separate from nature. As the rishis said, "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (the world is one family). When I align my spine, I connect with nature. When I find inner peace, I spread outer peace.

Does yoga make you sleepy or give you energy? In the beginning, the effort can be tiring. But as you adapt, the practice of asana, pranayama, and dhyana generates a new self-sustaining energy that circulates through the body, mind, and intelligence.

The journey of yoga is never-ending. There is always room for growth and improvement. My goal is to teach you the alignment, biomechanics, and true potential of your body so you can continue to grow and live fully in each moment.

About The Arogyam Vardan Philosophy

Many people start yoga thinking it is just a workout, but the real change happens when you stop chasing poses and start observing your own alignment. In my classes, we use Iyengar-style props like ropes and wooden blocks not as shortcuts, but as tools to teach your nerves how to release chronic tension safely. Before you book, know that this is a practice of patience; I prioritize anatomical precision over speed to ensure your joints and nervous system actually heal.

Understanding the 'Why' Behind the Asana

Yoga is often marketed as a quick fix or a fitness trend, but at Arogyam Vardan, I treat it as a disciplined study of the self. My philosophy is grounded in the intersection of traditional yogic texts and modern medical science. When you join my sessions, we do not just move through a flow; we analyze the biomechanics of every movement.

The Science of Props

I rely heavily on the Iyengar method, which utilizes specific props—ropes, chairs, and wooden blocks—to adjust poses to the individual body, rather than forcing the body into the pose. This is particularly important for students dealing with:

  • Chronic Pain: Sciatica, slip discs, or cervical issues require precise decompression, not strain.
  • Nervous System Regulation: We use restorative poses to shift the body from 'fight or flight' (sympathetic) to 'rest and digest' (parasympathetic) states.
  • Anatomical Understanding: You will learn about your own anatomy, understanding why a specific stretch works for your back or how breathwork affects your cortisol levels.

Aahar, Vihaar, and Vichar

My teaching goes beyond the mat. True balance, or chetna (consciousness), requires us to look at our Aahar (food), Vihaar (lifestyle), and Vichar (thoughts). We discuss these elements during classes because physical practice is only effective when supported by a balanced way of living.

Whether you are a beginner looking to understand your body better or someone managing specific physical limitations, my goal is to guide you toward a sustainable, intelligent practice that serves you for a lifetime.

I am Gyan. I left a career in finance because I realized the missing piece in most people's lives is not more activity, but true alignment. I teach yoga as a science, focusing on how your anatomy interacts with your breath to create lasting peace, not just a flexible body.
