These pieces are my attempt to paint the divine connection within us—what I call svayam—using surrealist strokes and stories from our scriptures to bring a quiet, sacred energy to your space.

This piece explores the theme of a spiritual embrace, a connection that transcends the physical. I use a mix of realism in the figures and abstract strokes to represent the flow of energy between them.

My interpretation of Lord Krishna, painted to celebrate Janmashtami. The goal was to capture a sense of tranquility, joy, and the cosmic energy that Krishna represents as the protector of the universe.

Titled "The Cup of Peace," this 36x60 inch oil on canvas from 2023 is a surrealist piece. It blends a human figure with a pigeon, a universal symbol of peace, to explore our inner quest for harmony.

This 4x4 feet oil on canvas, from my solo show "Fundamental Instinct," depicts the concept of soulmates. It combines two figures, one human and one divine, with elements of nature to tell a story of union.

A custom painting of a meditating figure, designed to bring a sense of peace and introspection to a room. The vibrant, flowing hair represents the universe of thoughts and energies that surround us.

"Supply vs Demand," a 48x60 inch oil on canvas from 2022. This piece uses surrealism and a reclining male figure to comment on our relationship with nature and its resources.

This is an ongoing work in my studio, a 36x60 inch oil on canvas depicting my vision of Vishnu. I am building layers of color to convey his role as the preserver of the universe.

A detailed view of my painting "Supply vs Demand." The nest for a head and the birds represent nature, while the crystalline forms symbolize material desires.

An abstract, surrealist piece that explores spiritual concepts through symbols. The triangle within the circle represents a focal point of energy and consciousness, a theme I often return to in my work.

About Spiritual & Mythological Visions

When you commission a spiritual piece, we start with a conversation about the narrative you want to explore. I don't just paint a figure; I work with you to understand the specific energy—whether it is the tranquility of Krishna or the protective nature of Vishnu—that you want to bring into your room. Before I touch the canvas, I provide 2-3 digital mockups to ensure the composition truly captures the emotion you are seeking.

My process for creating mythological and spiritual art is rooted in a deep collaboration between my vision and your environment. Whether we are discussing a large-format depiction of Lord Vishnu or a surrealist piece about soulmates, I treat each commission as a unique story, not just a decorative item.

I believe art is the best way to pause and reflect on the 'fundamental instincts' that drive us. For collectors, this means the experience is deeply personal. We don't just decide on dimensions, frame styles, or color palettes; we discuss the specific spiritual concepts or emotions you want the painting to evoke in your home or office.

For large-scale oil on canvas works, I provide bi-weekly updates throughout the process, showing the layering techniques and the evolution of the composition. This keeps you connected to the birth of the painting from the first sketch to the final application of varnish. If you are looking for a piece that serves as a focal point for meditation, a conversation starter, or a personal reminder of the divine spark, let's talk about what speaks to you.

I am Ankur. I paint because I am curious about the divine spark in all of us, from ancient mythological figures to our own internal quiet moments. My studio is where those big questions become tangible art.
