Contemporary Art and Custom Commissions
A selection of my work spanning oil-on-canvas and experimental metal techniques, focused on exploring human instincts and the connection between art and the viewer.
This piece, which was the face of my "Fundamental Instincts" solo show, is at the heart of my work. It's a 4x4 feet oil on canvas that explores the connection between our physical and spiritual selves, blending figurative art with surreal elements of nature.
This is an example of my work with oil on metal, a piece called "The God in small Lives." The rose gold metal sheet has a mirror finish, so when you look closely, your own reflection becomes part of the art. It’s a way to experience *svayam*, or self-realization, directly.
I love seeing my art transform a space. Here, my large-scale painting "Devi" becomes the soul of this room, bringing vibrant color and powerful feminine energy into the home. A custom piece should feel like it truly belongs in your world.
This oil on canvas painting captures the dynamic energy of a kingfisher. I blend realism with abstract splashes of water and color to convey not just the bird itself, but the life force and instinct that drives it.
Here I am in my studio, deep in the process of creating a large-scale custom painting. Every piece is a journey, a conversation between the canvas, the paint, and the vision we are bringing to life together.
This 48x60 inch oil on canvas from 2022 is a deep dive into the theme of soulmates. I use surreal and figurative elements to explore the invisible, powerful connection that binds two people, showing how their energies intertwine.
Titled "Fucchu's comeback," this large 48x72 inch oil painting is a very personal piece about love and memory. It shows how I use animal portraiture to explore deep human emotions and create a conceptual, modern piece of art.
I was grateful to see my solo exhibition "Fundamental Instincts" covered by HT City. It is always a profound experience to have my work shared and discussed with a wider community.
About Featured
My process for custom commissions is a back-and-forth collaboration, not a transaction. Whether we are planning a large 48x72 inch statement piece or a specific oil-on-metal artwork, I provide bi-weekly updates and digital mockups so you are part of the journey. The goal is to create a piece that feels like it truly belongs in your room, not just something hung to fill a wall.
My Approach to Custom Art
I believe art should be a mirror to our own experiences. When you commission a piece, I look to understand your space and your story. I work across various formats—from 36x36 inch square canvases to sprawling 48x72 inch compositions—and tailor the technique to the mood you want to set.
The Oil-on-Metal Difference
One of the most unique aspects of my work is the experimentation with rose gold stainless steel. Unlike a standard canvas, the unpainted negative space on these sheets acts as a mirror. As you move around the room, your own reflection becomes part of the painting. It is designed to invite you into the work, making the experience of 'svayam'—or self-realization—literal. These pieces require specific maintenance, which I include in the handover package.
Working with Me
I am based in Delhi and ship across India. When we begin, we start with a conversation about narrative and placement.
- Consultation: We discuss palette and subject to match your interior.
- Execution: Whether it is high-viscosity oil on canvas or oil on metal, I use archival-grade materials to ensure longevity.
- Process: I provide digital sketches or mockups before we start, so you know exactly what is coming to your home.
If you have a wall that feels incomplete, let's talk about what we can create for it.

I am Ankur. I paint because I am curious, always poking at what makes us human. Nature sneaks into my work, and I swear, every canvas has its own soul.
