Beyond my standard commissions, I spend time in my studio pushing the boundaries of what a canvas can be. This collection is where I explore new textures, materials, and concepts that do not fit the usual mould.

A detailed shot of a mixed-media piece. This circular work combines geometric wood carving with miniature painted scenes, exploring the tension between urban structures and the natural world.

About Additional Work

The circular piece you see here combines geometric wood carving with miniature painting to highlight the tension between urban structures and nature. It is a tactile experiment that I created to force a closer look at the details, which is often lost in larger, flat canvases.

This collection is where I break my own rules. As an artist, I feel a need to constantly test my limits, whether that means working on circular panels or mixing industrial materials with traditional oil paint.

My process for these experiments is usually spontaneous. For the wood-carved pieces, I spend days planning the geometric flow before I even touch a brush. The goal is to create a visual push and pull, where the sharp lines of the carving meet the softness of the painted scenes.

I find that these works spark the best conversations at exhibitions. People often spend more time with these because they are not just looking at a subject, they are trying to decode the layers. If you are looking for art that challenges the viewer and adds a unique textural element to your space, this is where we should start our conversation. I am always open to custom experiments if you have a specific vision that defies standard formats.

I'm Ankur. My art is how I figure out myself and the world around me. When I am not working on portraits or spiritual canvases, I am usually here, playing with wood, metal, and whatever else catches my eye.
