Why I Paint
Art, for me, is a way to dig deep and connect with what’s inside us all. I believe there’s something divine in everything, and my paintings aim to capture that spark. When you see yourself in the art, a bit of svayam (self-realization), I feel like my job is done.
Your Vision, My Canvas
Every custom painting is a real back-and-forth. We chat about what you want - maybe a bold piece for the drawing room, something subtle for a quiet spot, or a large format custom painting for your office. The goal is for the finished piece to feel like it belongs in your world, not just on your wall.
What Inspires My Work
- My style jumps between realism, abstract, and surrealism.
- I often paint themes from spirituality, mythology, and human emotion. You’ll see inspiration from scriptures and the idea of soulmates.
- Subjects range from powerful women and figurative men to symbolic animal portraiture - horses, tigers, elephants, birds, sometimes all mixed up with people.
Mediums I Love
Mostly I use oil on canvas, but I’m a bit obsessed with experimenting. One of my favorite things is oil paintings on metal sheets, especially rose gold. The mirror-like finish pulls your own reflection into the painting - so you’re literally part of the piece.

My Story
Hey, I'm Ankur. Delhi is home, but my mind wanders everywhere – Pushkar ghats, busy streets, even my dog Fucchu’s wild moods. I paint because I’m curious, always poking at what makes us human. Nature sneaks into my work, and I swear, every canvas has its own soul. My exhibitions? Best part. Faces light up, sometimes folks spot things I missed. Art’s my way to figure out myself – svayam – and maybe help you do the same.
My Work
Contemporary Paintings & Commissions - I make large canvas pieces, custom work for homes, and experiment with oil-on-metal painting.
Oil-on-Metal Technique - I use rose gold metal sheets, so your reflection mixes with the art. It’s different, you’ll feel it.
Conceptual Storytelling - My paintings dig into nature, spirituality, and our instincts. Each piece is a story, not just decor.
Exhibitions & Live Workshops - Held solo shows and run live painting workshops, sometimes for causes like ‘Kids for Tiger’.
