Why I Paint
Art, for me, is a way to dig deep and connect with what’s inside us all. I believe there’s something divine in everything, and my paintings aim to capture that spark. When you see yourself in the art, a bit of svayam (self-realization), I feel like my job is done.

What Inspires My Work
- My style jumps between realism, abstract, and surrealism.
- I often paint themes from spirituality, mythology, and human emotion. You’ll see inspiration from scriptures and the idea of soulmates.
- Subjects range from powerful women and figurative men to symbolic animal portraiture - horses, tigers, elephants, birds, sometimes all mixed up with people.
Mediums I Love
Mostly I use oil on canvas, but I’m a bit obsessed with experimenting. One of my favorite things is oil paintings on metal sheets, especially rose gold. The mirror-like finish pulls your own reflection into the painting - so you’re literally part of the piece.

Hey, I'm Ankur. Delhi is home, but my mind wanders everywhere – Pushkar ghats, busy streets, even my dog Fucchu’s wild moods. I paint because I’m curious, always poking at what makes us human.
