Portraits of the Divine Feminine in Oil
My collection explores the strength and grace of the feminine form through oil on canvas. Whether it is a bold statement piece or a subtle study, these portraits celebrate the power within.
My painting "Devi," an oil on canvas that celebrates the goddess within every woman. The vibrant, flowing colors and symbolic elements are meant to convey a sense of creative and spiritual power.
A large-scale painting of a woman connected to nature, her hair and body merging with green, life-giving forms. This piece was a central part of one of my gallery exhibitions.
Titled "Dream 2," this oil on canvas explores the inner world of a woman. The swan represents grace and the surreal landscape in her hair signifies the vastness of her thoughts and dreams.
"Seductress," an oil on canvas where I explore themes of love and attraction. The woman is depicted with a powerful gaze, surrounded by symbolic hearts and abstract forms against a dark, intimate background.
A modern portrait where I used a unique, almost pixelated technique to build the face. This piece blends traditional portraiture with contemporary abstraction to explore identity in the digital age.
A small, expressive 10x10 inch oil on canvas portrait. In these smaller works, I focus on capturing a single, powerful emotion through quick, abstract brushstrokes and a focused gaze.
This 10x10 inch oil on canvas is a study in profile. I used bold, contrasting colors and abstract shapes in the headdress to represent the complex thoughts of the subject.
An abstract and surreal painting exploring a woman's relationship with the cosmos. The piece is intentionally dreamlike and open to interpretation, a conversation starter for any space.
A portrait framed within a heart shape, using bold, theatrical makeup and colors. This piece plays with the idea of love and performance, painted with oil on canvas.
About Portraits of the Divine Feminine
Every portrait starts with a conversation about what you want to feel when you look at the canvas. Whether I am using bold, abstract brushstrokes to capture a complex thought or delicate layers to reveal a gentle gaze, the focus is always on creating a piece that resonates with your personal space and story.
When I paint the feminine form, I draw inspiration from both ancient scriptures and the contemporary reality of women. My work is not just about creating a likeness; it is about capturing a specific energy. I often blend traditional portraiture with surreal or abstract elements—sometimes a crown of flowers, other times a dreamlike landscape woven into the subject's hair—to represent the depth of thought and emotion.
For these commissions, I use high-viscosity artist-grade oil paints on premium cotton or linen canvas. If you are looking for something specific, we can discuss the composition—whether you want a portrait that feels like a quiet, intimate moment or a larger, more theatrical piece that serves as the centerpiece of a room.
The process is a collaboration. I provide 2-3 digital mockups to ensure the narrative aligns with your vision before I start. Throughout the painting phase, I send bi-weekly updates so you can see the layering process unfold. Each finished portrait is sealed with archival varnish for UV protection and arrives ready to display, signed with a certificate of authenticity.

I am Ankur, and for me, painting is a way to explore the divine spark in all of us. My studio in Delhi is where these portraits come to life, usually amidst a mix of oil, turpentine, and a few stray thoughts. I love working with people who want their art to tell a real story.
