A painting is more than just decor; it is a piece of my studio that finds a home with you. See how we go from a rough idea to a finished canvas.

A view from behind my shoulder as I work on the fine details of this large parrot painting. Creating art is a meditative process that requires immense focus and patience.

This is a digital mockup showing how a vibrant, surrealist portrait can become a stunning focal point in a modern interior. It helps clients visualize how a custom piece will feel in their own home.

A happy client in her happy home. Seeing my art become part of someone's daily life is the most rewarding part of what I do. This large custom painting was designed to fit the scale and energy of her living room.

Another example of my art in a collector's home. This surrealist landscape with a central female figure brings a sense of mystery and contemplation to the space.

A time-lapse showing the early stages of my 4x4 feet "Fundamental Instinct" painting. I start by mapping out the large forms and building up the layers of color and texture.

The very beginning of a painting. Here, I am applying the first layer of oil paint to a blank canvas, creating a textured background that will serve as the foundation for the entire piece.

Working late in the studio. The process of creating a large-scale painting involves many hours and layers, and the piece often changes and evolves as I work.

A glimpse of two paintings side-by-side in my studio. On the right, a new piece is just beginning with a pencil sketch on canvas, while another completed work hangs nearby.

Experimenting with abstract techniques in my studio. I often create textured backgrounds like this by splattering and layering paint, which adds depth and unpredictability to the final piece.

People call it "being alone," but for me, these quiet moments in the studio are when I create the best version of myself. This is where the work happens.

About From My Studio to Your Home

When we start a custom commission, I send bi-weekly updates with photos or videos as the work evolves. You are not just ordering a product; you are witnessing the birth of your artwork. Whether we are mapping out the large forms on a 4x4 canvas or deciding on the specific texture for a portrait, you get to see exactly how your vision takes shape before it ever reaches your wall.

The Collaborative Process

Making art for someone else is a journey we take together. It starts with a conversation about your space—the light, the mood, and what you want to feel when you walk into the room. Whether you need a large statement piece for a drawing room or a small, subtle work for a reading nook, the process is built on back-and-forth communication to ensure the final piece truly belongs in your world.

Studio Practice

My studio is my sanctuary, and I invite you into that process. I don't just send a final bill; I share the work-in-progress, from the first layer of oil paint to the final varnish. For larger projects, such as 48x72 inch statement canvases, I provide detailed digital mockups or sketches first so we can refine the narrative before a single drop of paint hits the canvas.

Timelines and Technicals

Good art requires patience. A standard commission usually follows this timeline:

  • Design & Sketches: 1 week of back-and-forth on your narrative.
  • Painting: 3 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the figurative work or surrealist elements.
  • Drying & Finishing: 2 weeks for the oil to cure, followed by applying archival varnish for UV protection.

Everything I create is signed, dated, and built to last. If you are opting for an oil on rose gold metal piece, I include specific cleaning instructions and a microfiber cloth to maintain that mirror finish. My goal is to make sure the painting survives and thrives in your home for years to come.
