About Aerial Yoga: Defy Gravity
You do not need to be a gymnast or a seasoned practitioner to get started with aerial yoga. We use the soft hammock as a support tool to help you safely explore inversions, relieve spinal pressure, and build strength without the typical strain on your joints. It is a practice of trust and letting go, accessible to anyone who is curious about moving differently.
At Amrutha Bindu, our aerial yoga sessions are less about gymnastics and more about finding freedom in your movement. The hammock acts as a partner that supports you, allowing you to hang, stretch, and flow in ways that are difficult to achieve on the floor.
Why practice aerial yoga?
- Spinal Decompression: By using gravity, we gently traction the spine, which provides relief from back pain and postural tightness often caused by desk work or stress.
- Overcoming Fear: Inversions can be intimidating. Our instructors provide hands-on spotting and step-by-step guidance so you can build confidence at your own pace.
- Building Strength: You engage your core and stabilizer muscles in ways you wouldn't on a mat, as the instability of the hammock requires constant engagement.
What to expect in class
We limit our batches to 7 participants to ensure everyone gets individual attention and safety. These classes run on weekends at our JP Nagar studio. Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned practitioner looking to deepen your practice, these sessions provide a playful yet structured space to step outside your comfort zone.
