Meet the Teachers at Amrutha Bindu Yoga
Yoga is a practice of self-discovery, not just a physical exercise. Meet the founders guiding our sessions in JP Nagar.
I am Sandipani S Manur, co-founder and director of academics. My focus is on somatic therapy and Thai bodywork, backed by an MSc in Yogic Sciences and over 25 years of practice. I use this knowledge to help clients overcome physical and emotional obstacles.
A quiet moment of study. My approach to bodywork is informed by continuous learning in traditional systems like Ayurveda and Marma therapy, which focus on the body's vital energy points. This allows for a more holistic and effective treatment.
This is my co-founder, Medha Bhaskar. Her deep understanding of yogic philosophy and practice is the heart of Amrutha Bindu Yoga. She helps our students build a personal framework for a productive and compassionate life.
About Meet the Practitioners
We approach the mat not as a stage for performance, but as a laboratory for life. Whether you work with Sandipani on somatic alignment or delve into classical philosophy with Medha, our goal remains the same: to help you build a personal framework that balances body, breath, and mind.
At Amrutha Bindu Yoga, we believe that the teacher is merely a guide on your path to self-awareness. Sandipani and Medha bring over 25 years of combined experience to our shala in JP Nagar, bridging the gap between ancient traditions and modern demands.
The Intersection of Science and Philosophy
Our team reflects a unique synthesis of disciplines. Sandipani, an engineer with a background in martial arts and somatic therapy, focuses on the structural and physiological aspects of yoga. He uses his knowledge of anatomy to help students move beyond physical pain and fascial adhesions. Medha, schooled in classical yoga and philosophy, anchors our practice in the wisdom of the Darshanas and the Upanishads.
Why Our Approach Matters
We do not teach poses for the sake of aesthetics. We teach for Svastha—that state where body, breath, and mind find equilibrium.
- For the Practitioner: You will not find cookie-cutter sequences here. We encourage you to start with curiosity and an understanding of your own unique body.
- For the Community: We are a shala where we celebrate, learn, and grow together. Our morning master classes and weekend workshops are designed to foster connection, ensuring that what you learn on the mat translates into the rest of your day.
Whether you are dealing with chronic tension or looking to deepen your philosophical understanding of yoga, our classes are structured to help you develop a sustainable personal practice.
