Therapeutic Thai Bodywork and Somatic Healing
I combine traditional Thai massage with somatic therapy to help you address chronic pain and stiffness at its root, moving beyond temporary relief toward long-term balance.
My practice is deeply rooted in traditional healing systems. Here I am studying Marma therapy, an ancient Indian practice of working with vital energy points in the body, which informs the way I approach my Thai bodywork sessions to release deep-seated blockages and restore flow.
For those who want to learn how to help themselves, I offer a "Self-Massage Essentials" workshop. This is a practical, hands-on session where you learn to identify your own pain points and use effective body manipulation techniques to relieve common aches, stress, and stiffness.
Long travel often leaves the body feeling stiff and compressed. This is a simple sequence of assisted stretches I use to counteract the effects of a long flight, focusing on releasing tension in the hips and lower back. It’s a small example of how you can use targeted movement to feel better in your body.
This is the quiet, dedicated room where I conduct my one-on-one Thai massage and bodywork sessions. The space is intentionally kept simple and serene, creating a tranquil environment for focused therapeutic work and deep relaxation.
As the co-founder of Amrutha Bindu Yoga, my specialization lies in somatic therapy using Thai bodyworks. With over two decades of teaching experience, I integrate classical yogic principles with physical therapy to help you find freedom from pain and stiffness.
About Featured
Thai bodywork is not a relaxation massage; it is an active, therapeutic process. We work on the floor, fully clothed, using rhythmic compression to break down deep-seated fascial adhesions. I approach this like an engineer identifying a mechanical failure—we assess your posture and gait first to find the root of the pain, rather than just treating the symptom.
A Different Approach to Pain
Many of us live with physical tension that eventually restricts our movement and clouds our mental clarity. My sessions in JP Nagar are designed to intervene in that cycle. Whether you are an athlete dealing with recovery or someone managing chronic stress from a desk job, the goal is to reach 'Svastha'—a state where the body, breath, and mind feel steady.
The Session Structure
Every one-on-one session begins with a 15-minute somatic analysis. We look at your posture, gait, and holding patterns to understand where the stress is physically anchored. The subsequent 60-75 minutes of hands-on work utilizes traditional Thai massage techniques, rhythmic thumbing, and assisted stretching. This is dry therapy, performed on a firm mattress to allow for the structural alignment necessary to release deep tension.
Why This Works
Unlike generic spa treatments, this is a targeted, anatomically informed practice. I focus on breaking down fascial adhesions that cause long-term stiffness. Because this can be intense, we always follow up with corrective guidance—simple yoga asanas you can practice at home to maintain the release we achieve in the studio. You leave the session not just feeling looser, but with a practical framework to manage your body mechanics daily.
If you prefer learning these techniques for yourself, I also conduct workshops on self-massage, where I teach you how to use tools like tennis balls and manual manipulation to address your own trigger points before they become chronic issues.
