My kitchen is where I recreate the comfort of home, preparing every dish from scratch with healthy, whole ingredients. No shortcuts, just honest food.

A look at one of my favorite balanced meals. It features nutritious spinach rice, creamy vegetables in tandoori sauce, wholesome missi roti, a refreshing beetroot curd dip, and a fresh fruit salad. This is the kind of complete, healthy meal you can expect from my kitchen.

This is a classic from my home state of Karnataka. Two soft, handmade Akki Rottis (rice flour bread) served on a traditional banana leaf with Badnekayi Yennegayi (stuffed brinjal curry), fresh chutney, and a sweet and sour pineapple gojju.

Here is how I pack a typical North Indian meal box for my daily subscription service. This thali includes soft Missi Roti, fragrant Peas Pulav, comforting Dal Fry, a mixed Veg Jalfrezi, and a side of fresh fruit.

I believe in making everything from scratch, and that includes my tofu. This video shows the entire process, from curdling the soy milk to pressing it into a fresh, soft block, ensuring there are no preservatives.

I get many requests for a kids-friendly tiffin service. This is a typical meal I prepare for children, with soft rotis, a mildly spiced paneer gravy, wholesome bisibelebath, and cooling raita, all made with less spice and lots of love.

The making of Badnekayi Yennegayi, a North Karnataka specialty. I stuff baby brinjals with a freshly ground spice mix and slow cook them in a rich, flavorful gravy until they are perfectly tender.

Why My Kitchen Is Different

I started Ammana Mane Oota (Mother’s Home Food) because I felt the market lacked honest, home-style nourishment. My process is simple but labor-intensive: I personally grind my own biryani masala, make pickles from scratch, and refuse to use chemical softeners for idlis.
