Traditional Karnataka flavours from my kitchen to yours. From hand-patted akki rotti to tangy majjige huli, everything is made fresh, just as I would cook for my own family.

My signature Akki Rotti, a soft and thin flatbread made from rice flour. It's a healthy, gluten-free option that pairs perfectly with my fresh coconut chutney.

A classic breakfast from the coastal region of Karnataka, Neer Dosa. These are thin, soft, and lacy rice crepes, served here with coconut chutney and a sweet coconut-jaggery filling.

A comforting and traditional combination of Otthu Shavige (freshly pressed rice noodles) and Sheekarne (a sweet mango and coconut milk curry).

Preparing Majjige Huli, a classic Karnataka dish. It's a flavorful and tangy curry made with yogurt, coconut, and vegetables like ash gourd.

Soft and fluffy Mangalore Buns, a slightly sweet fried bread made with banana and flour. I serve them hot with coconut chutney and a vegetable sagu.

Freshly steamed idlis right out of the stand. I take pride in making these idlis incredibly soft and fluffy without using any cooking soda.

A closer look at the idli batter just before steaming. The natural fermentation process is what makes them so light.

About this collection

When you order these traditional dishes, you are getting food made with zero shortcuts. Whether it is the natural fermentation process for my soft idlis or the hand-patted technique for my jowar and akki rotti, I never use cooking soda or artificial ingredients. It is exactly the kind of healthy, honest meal I prepare daily for my own home.

Eating traditional Karnataka food should not mean compromising on health or quality. In my kitchen, I focus on the basics: fresh vegetables, whole grains, and my own homemade masalas. I make my own puliogare powder, grind my own chutneys, and even ferment my idli batter naturally without any store-bought additives.

My signature Akki Rotti and Jolada Rotti are hand-patted, a labour-intensive process that gives them that distinct texture you cannot get with machine-pressed alternatives. I also regularly prepare comfort dishes like Majjige Huli, Pineapple Rasam, and Neer Dosa, keeping the authentic taste of coastal and interior Karnataka alive for my clients in South Bangalore.

If you live in areas including Bannerghatta Road, Arekere, Hulimavu, JP Nagar, and Jayanagar, I can deliver these meals fresh to your doorstep. Since I cook everything myself, I can also adjust spice levels, especially if you have toddlers or prefer milder flavours. My goal is not just to feed you, but to share the kind of wholesome, nurturing food that defines the name 'Ammana Mane Oota'. If you are looking for a reliable, home-cooked meal subscription or need catering for a small family gathering, feel free to reach out. I am happy to discuss your specific dietary requirements and customise a menu that feels like home.
