In this interview clip from Saam TV, I am explaining my inspiration, which often comes from ancient Indian stone sculptures, and how I try to capture that feeling in my watercolours.

About Cultural & Spiritual Art

My approach is simple: I don’t just paint a subject, I try to catch the energy behind it. When I painted 'Bal Ganesh' live on Saam TV, it wasn't just about the technique, but about channelling the pure, curious spirit of my young son into the canvas, using Supervision mineral watercolours to bring that warmth to life.

My work in this cluster is deeply tied to my own roots and the stories that define our culture. Whether I am working on my 'Stone Series'—which is inspired by the ancient, soul-stirring carvings I’ve admired at Ellora—or creating live portraits at festivals, my goal is to bridge the gap between historical grandeur and contemporary life.

I often travel for these projects, bringing my easel to art camps, college festivals, and even news studios. For instance, I created a live tribute for 'Atalparv' that allowed the audience to watch the evolution of a portrait in real-time. These live sessions are where I feel most connected to my work; they aren't just performances, but a conversation between the artist, the subject, and the viewers.

Technically, I choose my materials with care. I rely on Arches paper and premium mineral pigments to ensure the colours reflect the vibrancy of our festivals. If you are looking for an artwork that carries a story—be it a deity, a national figure, or a piece of heritage—I would love to help you bring that vision onto the canvas. Whether you want to host a live painting session or commission a specific piece for your home or office, let’s talk about how we can make it happen.

I am an artist deeply connected to our roots, drawing inspiration from my family and the timeless energy of Indian sculptures. I don’t just create paintings; I try to bring those quiet, powerful moments of our culture to life on paper and canvas.
