On-Location & Landscape Art Commissions and Live Demonstrations
I bring the energy of India’s landscapes to life through live watercolour and acrylic painting. Whether for an art festival, college event, or private commission, I capture the spirit of our heritage on-site.

About On-Location & Landscape Art
When I paint on location, the environment dictates the brushwork. I use heavy-duty Arches paper and premium mineral watercolours to ensure the painting survives the elements, whether I am at the ghats of Pushkar or the historic ruins of Sinhagad Fort. This is not just about capturing a view, but about reacting to the changing light and atmosphere in real-time.
I practice plein air—the term for painting outdoors—because it demands complete honesty. You cannot fake the morning light over the Pushkar ghats or the way mist hangs over the Konkan landscape in Devrukh. It is a constant dialogue between me and the space.
My painting kit is mobile and efficient, allowing me to travel from the caves of Elephanta to university campuses for live demonstrations. I stick to Supervision mineral watercolours and Camel HD acrylics because they hold their vibrancy under the Indian sun.
When I come to your venue for a live painting session or a landscape workshop, I do not just deliver a finished piece. I show you how to compose a scene, mix pigments, and make rapid creative decisions as the sun shifts. Whether you need a 15-foot calligraphy scroll for a cultural festival or a 22x30 inch watercolour landscape for your private collection, my work is about authenticity. I want you to feel the wind and heat of the location I have painted, not just see a picture of it.
Amit Dhane
I am Amit, and art for me is a way to pass on what I have learned from my father and the ancient stone carvers at Ellora. I spend my days outdoors with my brushes and pigments, chasing the perfect light to capture the soul of our landscapes.
