I channel my heritage into these paintings, bringing deities like Durga, Krishna, and Lakshmi to life with vibrant watercolors and acrylics. Each piece is a personal exploration of faith, devotion, and the festive spirit.

A watercolor painting depicting "Chokkhu Daan," the sacred moment when the eyes are painted onto the idol of Ma Durga, signifying the beginning of her journey home for Durga Puja.

A process video showing the creation of a Durga painting, from the initial sketch to the final watercolor details. This piece captures the homecoming of the Goddess, a feeling that is unparalleled.

A framed Durga painting, bringing a divine and festive atmosphere into the home during the pujo season. The details and colors are inspired by traditional depictions of the goddess.

An expressive, textured acrylic painting of Ma Durga's face, completed just in time for the Shubho Shashti celebrations. The use of a palette knife adds depth and emotion to the piece.

Here I am with my completed Durga Ma painting for the year. Creating this piece is a personal ritual and my way of welcoming the goddess into my home.

A close-up video showing the fine brushwork involved in painting a tender moment between Yashoda and Krishna. This piece is filled with warmth and celebrates the divine mother-child bond.

From pencil sketch to finished watercolor, this video documents the creation of a Ram Darbar painting. It was a fulfilling experience to paint Lord Ram's divine family for the Ayodhya Mandir inauguration.

A watercolor painting capturing the devotion of Hanuman towards Lord Ram. The dark background and warm light create a serene, spiritual mood, perfect for a prayer room or peaceful corner.

A quick reveal of a small watercolor portrait of Hanuman, showing the transition from a blank page to a finished piece full of devotion and character.

Me with my acrylic painting of Goddess Lakshmi, created for the Kojagori Lokkhi Puja. The traditional imagery and vibrant colors are meant to bring blessings and prosperity.

About Indian Deities & Spiritual Art

When I paint a deity, I focus on the expression and the ritual behind the image. I use professional-grade Mijello Mission pigments for watercolors and heavy-body acrylics for canvas work, ensuring the colors remain vibrant for years without fading. Whether you want a piece for your puja room or a living space, we can discuss the specific mood and color palette before I pick up my brush.

Art Inspired by Devotion

My paintings of deities are more than just portraits; they are my way of bringing the energy of festivals like Durga Pujo, Lakshmi Pujo, and Janmashtami into your home. Each stroke is a reflection of my roots and the stories I grew up with.

My Process and Materials

I treat every commission with the same care I give my own personal ritual paintings.

  • Watercolors: I use Arches 300GSM 100% cotton paper. This paper is archival quality, meaning it won't yellow over time. For the colors, I rely on Mijello Mission Gold pigments, known for their lightfastness and intensity.
  • Acrylics: For larger pieces on canvas or wood panel, I use heavy body acrylics. Once finished, I seal these with a professional archival varnish, making them dust-resistant and durable enough to hang without glass framing.

Customizing Your Spiritual Art

Whether you are looking for a fierce Maa Kali for your study or a serene Radha-Krishna piece for your living room, I can adapt the style to fit your space.

  • Portraiture: We start by discussing the specific deity, the desired expression, and the color scheme that complements your existing decor.
  • Symbolism: I enjoy incorporating traditional elements, from lotus motifs to folk-art detailing, inspired by masters like Jamini Roy, but with my own modern twist.

If you have a specific festival or occasion in mind, please reach out. I love creating pieces that hold personal meaning for your family.
