Spiritual and Cultural Art Commissions

I paint and sculpt stories of faith and history, from detailed acrylic portraits of deities to eco-friendly shadu clay Ganeshas.

A work-in-progress shot of the Shivaji Maharaj portrait, showing how I build up layers of acrylic paint to create depth and detail in the clothing and expression.

The eyes are the most critical part of any portrait. Here, you can see the fine brushwork involved in bringing life and intensity to the gaze of Shivaji Maharaj.

An acrylic on canvas painting of Lord Shiva in meditation. I used a classic depiction to evoke a sense of calm, power, and spiritual strength.

This piece combines watercolor washes with fine-line ink work to create a modern interpretation of Lord Shiva, blending color and form in a serene composition.

Watch my process for creating a large-scale painting of Devi. I start with a fluid watercolor background before carefully lining the intricate details of the goddess.

Beyond painting, I also sculpt. This is a 'Majha Bappa' idol I created by hand using shadu clay, complete with intricate details like the peacock and mouse.

A custom commission blending a portrait of Lord Krishna with detailed mandala art. This ink drawing is a perfect example of combining different art forms to create a unique spiritual piece.

About this collection

When you commission a spiritual piece, I work on it layer by layer, especially with acrylic portraits where capturing the gaze is everything. For my Ganesha idols, I use natural shadu clay to keep it eco-friendly and entirely handmade without any molds. This means your Bappa is truly one-of-a-kind, crafted carefully to match your specific vision.

My approach to spiritual and cultural art is about more than just a picture on a wall. It is about creating a focal point for your home that holds personal meaning.

My Process

Whether I am painting a portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj or a meditative Shiva, I focus on the details that bring the subject to life. For acrylic canvases, I use a multi-layering technique to build depth and vibrancy. If you prefer something softer, my watercolor and ink work focuses on delicate line work and fluid washes.

Materials

  • Acrylics: I use heavy-body professional acrylics on gallery-wrapped cotton canvas. Each piece is sealed with a double-coat varnish to ensure it is dust-resistant and durable.
  • Shadu Clay: My idols are sculpted using natural, unbaked shadu clay. I do not use molds. Every curve and feature is hand-sculpted, making each idol unique.

Customization

I can adapt these styles to your needs. You can choose the size, the specific deity, or even a historical figure. Since every piece is handmade, I require about 7 to 14 days to complete the work, allowing time for proper layering and drying. If you have a specific reference or a traditional style you admire, let me know. We can discuss colors, composition, and framing to make sure the final artwork fits perfectly in your space.
