Live Marathi Calligraphy for Events and Festivals

My love for Marathi calligraphy goes back to my days at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya. I was lucky to have mentors like Babu Udupi sir, who taught me the discipline of sit-down calligraphy, and I have long admired the work of Achyut Palav sir. This craft is about more than just writing; it is about managing space, pressure, and the specific motion required to create those sweeping Devanagari characters.

The Process

For large-scale projects, like the 15-foot paper rolls I create for cultural festivals such as Gulmohar Day, I use heavy-duty paper and custom-made wide flat brushes or reed pens. Whether I am using high-flow acrylics for outdoor displays or traditional inks for indoor settings, the goal is the same: to create a piece that feels alive.

I am based in Pune but frequently travel across India for:
