For me, painting gods is not just art; it is shradha. I pour my devotion into every brushstroke, whether it is an intricate Pahari miniature or a large-scale canvas. Explore my collection of divine portraits.

Unveiling my acrylic painting of Lalbaugcha Raja. This 15 by 23-inch canvas captures the divine presence of Ganpati Bappa, a source of joy and strength for so many.

A scroll-style reveal of the finished Ganesha painting. The vibrant blue background makes the detailed figure of the deity stand out, ready to bring blessings to a home.

A charcoal and pencil drawing of Ganesha coming to life. This video shows the stippling and shading technique I use to create depth and texture, especially in the deity's crown and trunk. Ganpati Bappa Morya!

This is something different, a 3D depiction of Ganpati on a leaf, made from Thermocol on a plywood board. It shows that devotion can be expressed in any material when it comes from the heart.

My watercolor painting inspired by a carving from the Vaital Deul temple in Odisha. It shows Maa Durga in her powerful form, a confluence of strength and compassion.

A video showing the gradual reveal of my watercolor painting of Durga. The artwork is based on ancient temple architecture and captures the goddess's fierce yet graceful posture.

A portrait of Maa Durga, the divine mother, painted on paper with acrylics. The halo and her many arms holding symbolic items represent her power and grace.

The cosmic dance of Shiva, known as the Tandav, painted with bold strokes of black, white, and yellow acrylic on canvas. This piece is all about capturing divine energy and movement.

A watercolor painting of a Shivling adorned with leaves and flowers, created for Nag Panchami. The soft green background gives a feeling of peace and reverence.

An abstract depiction of Lord Shiva dancing, with a fiery red background and splashes of blue. This piece expresses the dynamic energy of the deity in a contemporary style.

About Devotional Portraits & Scenes

Every deity I paint carries a different energy, which is why I select my medium carefully. For a vibrant Ganpati portrait, I often suggest high-quality acrylics on canvas to bring out the depth of the crown and ornaments. If you prefer the meditative beauty of Radha-Krishna, I recommend my Guler-style Pahari miniatures, where I hand-mix natural earth pigments on traditional paper. Choosing the right material changes how the light interacts with the painting in your home.

When I paint, I am looking for the divine spirit within the frame. Whether it is the fierce grace of Maa Durga inspired by Odisha temple architecture or the playful Tandav of Mahadev, my work is a form of prayer.

Choosing Your Divine Theme

If you have a specific deity in mind, we can discuss the best style to represent them:

  • Acrylic on Canvas: Ideal for large, high-impact portraits like Lalbaugcha Raja. These are durable, easy to clean, and perfect for living room centerpieces.
  • Watercolor on Paper: Perfect for capturing the delicate, flowing emotions of deities like Maa Durga or the serene Shivling. These work beautifully in smaller, framed settings like prayer rooms or hallways.
  • Pahari Miniatures: My most intricate work. Using hand-mixed natural stone and vegetable pigments, I recreate the classic Guler style. This is slow, meditative art intended for those who appreciate fine, precise detailing on traditional paper.

Custom Commissions

I treat every commission as a personal journey. You can send me a reference or an idea, and I will tailor the size, medium, and color palette to suit your space. A 5x4 foot canvas requires different techniques than a compact 12x16 inch portrait, and I ensure the finishing—whether a protective gloss varnish for acrylics or careful butter-paper interleaving for miniatures—preserves the artwork for years.

My process is simple: we discuss your vision, I sketch the composition, and then the layering of colors begins. If you want to bring the energy of Mahadev, the strength of Durga, or the blessing of Ganpati into your home, let us start a conversation.

I am Neelam, and for me, art is devotion. I spend hours, sometimes days, perfecting the expression in a deity's eyes because that is where the soul of the painting resides. When you commission a piece, you are not just getting a canvas; you are getting a part of my prayer.
