Festive Art Workshops for Kids in Bandra
Bring culture and creativity together. Join my studio in Bandra for hands-on festive workshops where children learn tradition through art, laughter, and messy, happy hands.
Winter brings a special kind of magic to the studio. Here are some of my students with their wonderful Christmas and winter-themed paintings, full of snow, trees, and holiday cheer.
Crafting handmade Christmas cards is a tradition here. This video shows the process, from painting and cutting to adding glittery details, resulting in a beautiful 3D card.
The joy of Diwali is captured in these bright and cheerful art pieces. My students loved painting traditional elephant motifs on circular plaques to celebrate the festival of lights.
For Rakshabandhan, we explored the theme of "mending and strengthening bonds" through art. The results were these beautiful and symbolic paintings created by the children.
Friendship is a work of art. For Friendship Day, the kids made these adorable crafts to gift to their best friends, featuring everything from dinosaurs to cupcakes.
A colourful compilation of art created for Holi, the festival of colours. The students explored different styles, from traditional Rajasthani figures to abstract representations of the celebration.
This beautiful painting captures two women celebrating Holi, showcasing the student's skill in detailed work and vibrant colour combinations. Well done!
A lovely piece of traditional Indian art for Holi, showing a woman dressed in festive attire. I love guiding students to explore different cultural art forms.
A creative take on the Holika Dahan bonfire. This young artiste used bright, contrasting colours to create a magical night scene.
Another imaginative Holika Dahan painting, this time set against a mountain backdrop. It's wonderful to see each child's unique interpretation of a theme.
About Festive Celebrations in the Studio
Here, festivals aren't just dates on a calendar; they’re a canvas for kids to explore tradition. I guide children to translate cultural themes—like the vibrancy of Holi or the spirit of Gudi Padwa—into their own original art. We prioritize safe, hands-on learning, using my own non-toxic, child-safe Baakin colours so that even the messiest projects remain worry-free.
Festivals are a wonderful time for children to connect with their roots through creative expression. Whether we are crafting 3D Christmas cards, painting traditional elephant motifs for Diwali, or exploring the symbolism of bonds during Rakshabandhan, my goal is to make these traditions tangible and fun.
Why Festive Art Matters
Art is a language, and cultural festivals provide the best stories to tell. In my Bandra studio, we don't just follow templates. Instead, I encourage kids to think about the 'why' behind the celebration. Why do we use certain colours for Holi? What does a Gudi symbolize? By transforming these answers into drawings, paintings, and crafts, children form a deeper, more personal connection to their heritage.
Safe, Small-Group Sessions
I believe that creativity shouldn't come with concerns about safety. That’s why I created Baakin—my own line of non-toxic, hybrid poster colours. They are easy for small hands to use and safe to handle. Every festive workshop is conducted in small groups of 5-8 students, ensuring that every child gets the attention they need to bring their unique vision to life. No pressure, no tracing, just the joy of making something real. Come by the studio and let’s celebrate the next festival with a splash of colour.
Alafiyas Kinderart
Hi, I’m Alafiya. My studio is a space where I help every child become their own little artist, whether we’re painting Diwali motifs or crafting for Christmas. I love seeing the spark of joy when they realize they’ve created something wonderful with their own two hands.
