Eco-Friendly Ganpati Workshops in Bandra
Shape your own Bappa from earth. Join us in Bandra to learn traditional clay sculpting and celebrate Ganesha Chaturthi with love and intention.
A truly special moment as this young artist puts the finishing touches on her self-made Ganpati idol. We learn not just sculpting, but also how to decorate with love and care.
Little hands, big hearts. My students are fully engaged in the process of sculpting their own idols from natural clay during our eco-friendly Ganpati workshop.
From a simple block of clay to a divine form, the journey is pure joy. Here you can see the concentration and happiness as my students mould their Ganpati idols.
The final step is always the most exciting. A student proudly holds up her beautifully decorated Ganpati, ready to be welcomed home for the festival.
About Eco-Friendly Ganpati Workshops
We do not just teach you to make an idol, we walk you through the entire process from a lump of Shadu clay to a finished Ganesha. Because these workshops are split over multiple sessions for sculpting and painting, you get plenty of time to let the clay dry and focus on the fine details without feeling rushed. It is a tactile, meditative experience that helps you connect with the festival in a meaningful way.
Why Choose Shadu Clay?
We strictly use Shadu Mati (natural river clay) because it is fully biodegradable. Unlike Plaster of Paris, which lingers, these idols dissolve naturally in water, making your celebration kinder to the environment.
The Process
Our workshops are designed for all ages. We start by teaching basic coil and ball modeling techniques to build the structure. You do not need to be an artist to join; we focus on anatomy and proportion, helping you bring your Bappa to life.
- Session 1 (Sculpting): We spend our time modeling the form, focusing on the trunk, ears, and features.
- Session 2 (Finishing): Once the clay is firm, we add the details and paint the idol using our non-toxic, child-safe BAAKIN paints.
What You Get
We provide the wooden chowki (plank) for the idol's base, along with all the tools and colors you need. You will leave with a Ganesha you sculpted from scratch, ready to be welcomed into your home for the festival. If you are looking for a break from the noise of the city, this is a quiet, creative space to pause and create something beautiful with your own hands.
Location
We host these sessions at our studio in Natalwalla Bungalow, Bandra West. It is a garden setting where you can truly relax and let your imagination take flight.
