About Creative Canvas Painting for Kids
I believe in 100% freehand painting, so you will not find any tracing here. By teaching children to trust their own eyes and hands, I help them understand perspective, colour blending, and composition from the very first stroke. It is about building muscle memory and the self-assurance that they can create anything they set their minds to.
We operate out of Natalwalla Bungalow in Bandra, a space where the atmosphere is calm, not chaotic. I use my own BAAKIN hybrid poster colours, which offer the smoothness of watercolour with the vibrancy of acrylics—perfect for young hands learning control. The classes are small, typically 6 to 10 children, which allows me to give individual attention to each artist as they work.
Whether they are painting a sprawling Japanese landscape or a surreal animal scene, the goal is to stop worrying about making a perfect picture. Instead, we focus on the joy of the process. Children learn to manage texture, light, and shadow, but they do it through subjects they are genuinely excited about. This is not just a hobby class; it is where they learn to express their unique voice through art.
Since we emphasize freehand technique, children are encouraged to make mistakes and learn from them. It is in the smudge of a brush or the accidental mix of colours that they often find their best ideas. By the end of our sessions, they leave with more than just a painting on canvas; they leave with the quiet confidence that they are the creators of their own world.
