The Yogalates Philosophy: Mind & Body
My practice is not just about the physical burn. It is a work-in. I combine the spiritual grounding of Yoga with the biomechanical precision of Pilates to help you build true strength, starting from the core.
"Shakti hi jeevan hai, durbalta hi mrityu hai." Strength is life, weakness is death. This is a core belief of mine, captured here by the sea. True strength is a combination of physical power, mental resilience, and spiritual clarity.
This was from a wonderful beach yoga workshop organized by my team at Kaizen. Practicing by the ocean connects us to nature's rhythm, allowing us to flow with the waves and breathe in pure, renewing energy.
This is where Yogalates comes to life. A fusion of Acro-Yoga stability and Pilates chair strength, this sequence requires complete trust, core control, and communication. It's a powerful demonstration of what's possible when we blend different disciplines.
I've adapted the traditional yoga Suryanamaskar, or Sun Salutation, for the Pilates chair. This flow combines dynamic lunges and planks to build heat, improve flexibility, and connect breath with movement in a truly unique way.
A glimpse into my practice space, where the principles of Kaizen, or continuous improvement, guide every session. This clip shows a core-focused exercise on the reformer using the magic circle to deepen abdominal engagement.
Finding stillness by the ocean. I believe you should not be a slave to your mind, but make your mind your slave. This is the essence of meditation: finding inner peace and control, no matter the external environment.
About The Yogalates Philosophy: Mind & Body
I do not just teach poses; I teach you to own your mind. In my studio at Kaizen Wellness Space in Miramar, we use specific apparatus like the Reformer and Pilates Chair not to build bulk, but to align your spine and sharpen your core. You will feel the difference in your posture and your mental clarity within just a few sessions.
The Kaizen Approach to Movement
I believe in Kaizen—the practice of getting 1% better every single day. My Yogalates sessions are built on this foundation. Whether we are on the mat or using the Pilates Reformer and Chair, the goal remains the same: steady, sustainable growth.
Why Yogalates?
Many people treat Yoga and Pilates as separate entities. I see them as two sides of the same coin. By merging the flexibility and spiritual focus of Yoga with the core-centric resistance training of Pilates, we create a workout that:
- Deepens Core Engagement: Using props like Magic Circles and Swiss Balls, we target the powerhouse of your body.
- Corrects Alignment: Through hands-on adjustments, we identify imbalances in your posture and work to correct them.
- Calms the Mind: We move with breath. It is impossible to hold a pose and worry about your to-do list at the same time. This is where you find sukoon (peace).
