At the Potter's Wheel: Kids' Pottery Workshop in Malad
Watch your child turn a messy lump of clay into their very own masterpiece. Our guided pottery sessions are the perfect screen-free escape right here in Malad West.
Total concentration. This young potter is completely absorbed in shaping her creation on the wheel. My workshops are a great screen-free activity that helps kids focus and develop their motor skills.
A close-up of the creative process. With a little guidance and a lot of imagination, a simple lump of clay transforms into a beautiful pot. It's amazing to watch their confidence grow as their pot does.
Learning the ropes of wheel throwing. This young boy is getting the hang of centering the clay, the first and most important step in pottery. I ensure every child gets one-on-one attention.
Success. Holding up his first wheel-thrown pot, this little artist is all smiles. Every child takes home what they make, a tangible reminder of their creative achievement.
A true family affair. Here, a toddler gets help from his parents and our instructor to experience the potter's wheel. My studio welcomes artists of all ages, making it a great family outing.
Teamwork makes the dream work. A mother and I are guiding her daughter as she learns to shape her pot. It's a wonderful bonding experience for families to create together.
Ready to get your hands dirty? This video captures the whole journey at my workshop, from spinning and sculpting the clay to painting the final piece and the happy faces of our creators.
Join my pottery workshop every Sunday at Toutle Space, Malad. This is your invitation to turn your artistic visions into reality, whether you're a kid or just a kid at heart.
About At the Potter's Wheel
Since we use air-dry techniques and acrylic painting, your child gets to bring their creation home the very same day. No waiting weeks for kiln firing or planning a second trip, just finish the piece, paint it, and take the memory with you.
At our open-air studio in Malad West, we keep things simple and fun. Your child will spend 15 to 20 minutes on the electric wheel, learning how to center the clay and pull up walls, followed by 40 minutes of hand-building to add details or make figurines. Finally, they get to paint their creation using acrylic colors. It is the perfect blend of learning and play.
We provide all the tools, aprons, and clay—you just bring your excitement. It is not just about making a pot, it is about that ‘wait, I made that?’ feeling. Our sessions are designed for all skill levels, so if your child has never touched clay before, do not worry. We guide them step-by-step to ensure they feel comfortable and have a blast. Whether they want to make a bowl, a tiny animal, or a festive Ganesha, the only limit is their imagination. Our rooftop setting provides a relaxed atmosphere, making it a great way for families to unwind away from city chaos.
