Guided Wheel Pottery & Sculpting
Session Structure
- Duration: 90 to 120 minutes of active pottery time.
- Wheel Throwing: Shared access to electric wheels with hands-on instructor guidance for centering and pulling clay.
- Hand Building: Access to sculpting tables for pinch pot or slab techniques while rotating turns on the wheel.
- Instruction: Specific guidance on couple posing with clay for photos.
Materials & Gear
- Clay: Unlimited practice clay during the session; approx. 500g to 800g allocated for final pieces.
- Equipment: Usage of sponges, wire cutters, sculpting ribs, and needle tools.
- Safety: Two aprons provided to protect clothes from mud splatters.
Post-Processing
- Firing Service: Includes bisque firing (hardening) for 1 piece per person (2 total per couple).
- Timeline: Final pieces require kiln firing and are ready for pickup after 2 to 3 weeks. No same-day takeaway for fresh clay items.

- Base Selection: Choice of 2 pre-fired ceramic items per couple, such as coffee mugs, kulhads, or snack plates.
- Setup: Seated table arrangement separate from the wheel area for a cleaner experience.

- Paints: Access to ceramic-compatible acrylics for decoration or underglazes for food-safe finishes.
- Tools: Assorted brushes (flat, detail, round), palettes, water cups, and stencils.
- Finishing: Application of a clear varnish coat to seal artwork.
Takeaway & Usage
- Decorative Option: If using acrylics, items can be taken home immediately.
- Food-Safe Option: If using glazes, items must be left for kiln firing (pickup in approx. 2 weeks).

My Story
Hey, we’re Pastel Mystery. We kicked off this whole thing just ‘cause making stuff with your hands feels kinda magical. Our studio in Malad is our chill spot, sunsets and all. People come in, forget the city chaos, and get messy with clay. First wobbly bowl, big smiles, even kids calling themselves 'meowsterpiece' makers - that’s what we live for. It’s messy, it’s fun, and you leave with clay on your hands and a happy heart.
