Pottery Sculpting and Painting Workshops
Kids love getting their hands messy, and here they get to turn that clay into something they can actually keep. From spinning the wheel to painting their own designs, it is all about letting them create something one of a kind.
Watch a "meowsterpiece" come to life. This video shows the process of hand-building and painting an adorable cat-shaped pot. Hand-sculpting is a great way for kids to create three-dimensional art.
Celebrating culture through clay. This participant proudly displays the Ganesha idol she sculpted by hand. My workshops often include themed projects like this for festive occasions.
A quiet moment of creativity. A mother and her child are completely focused on painting their pottery pieces side-by-side. The painting phase is a calm and relaxing part of the workshop.
The painting table is where the magic happens. With pots, diyas, and figurines ready to be decorated, kids can let their imaginations run free with a variety of colorful paints.
Proudly presenting their finished work. A mother and daughter show off the pieces they just painted. Seeing their happy faces with their personalized art is the best part of my day.
A closer look at their colorful creations. The daughter holds her painted bowl while her mom shows off a small, decorated piece. Every item is a unique reflection of its creator's personality.
About Sculpting, Painting & Personalizing
It is not just about making a pot, it is about the full creative process. In these sessions, kids spend time on the wheel to form their base before moving to the painting station. We provide soft pastel paints and brushes, letting them add their own details, whether they are making a festive Ganesha or a tiny animal figurine, so they leave with a finished piece they made themselves.
Our process is designed for all skill levels, ensuring that everyone walks away with something they are proud of. We start with 15 to 20 minutes on the electric wheel, where we help you center the clay and pull up walls for a bowl, cup, or cylinder. Once the shape is set, we move into hand-building for 30 to 40 minutes, using pinch and coil techniques to create detailed figurines or custom forms.
The final 30 minutes are all about the painting phase. We provide a shared palette of acrylic colors and synthetic brushes, giving you the freedom to decorate your creation in whatever style you like. We believe that the best art comes from having fun, so we provide everything you need—500g to 750g of natural clay per child, modeling tools, and branded aprons to keep you clean.
Our open-air studio in Malad West is designed to be a relaxed escape from the city rush. Please note that because these pieces are painted on-site and taken home immediately, they are decorative items and not kiln-fired, which means they are not food-safe. It is the perfect activity for families looking for a creative afternoon, or anyone wanting to try their hand at clay art in a low-pressure, supportive environment.
