About Sport-Specific Training: Running & Cycling
It’s not just about grinding out miles; it’s about efficiency. Whether we’re using resistance bands to correct your running stride or drafting during group rides, I focus on the mechanics that prevent injury and boost speed. We’ll meet at the gym for form analysis and then hit the road for the real-world performance work.
Building an engine that lasts requires more than just high mileage. My approach integrates gym-based strength work at The Outfit in Indiranagar with outdoor endurance training to ensure you are not just fast, but durable.
Running Mechanics
We start with form analysis. I look at your gait, cadence, and mechanics using resistance bands and treadmill drills to clean up your stride. If you are struggling with shin splints or lower back fatigue during long runs, it is usually a technique issue that we can fix quickly.
Cycling Technique
For cycling, we take it to the open roads. I join my clients for rides around Airport Road and Nandi Hills to teach you the practical side of cycling that you cannot learn on a trainer. This includes:
- Drafting: Learning to ride efficiently in a pack.
- Pacing: Mastering heart rate zones so you do not burn out early.
- Handling: Road safety and bike control for long-distance events.
