Canvas & Paint Explorations at YoungPlum
Ditch the pressure and get creative. We help you explore everything from vibrant acrylics to soft watercolors in a space where messy is encouraged and every mistake is just a new direction.
Concentration is key. This young artist is meticulously adding the final touches to his deep-sea whale painting, learning about fine brush control and detail work.
Adding details with a paint marker is a great way to create crisp lines and patterns over a painted background. Here, a student adds coral details to her ocean scene.
A proud artist with her finished whale painting. She did a wonderful job creating a magical underwater world filled with color and life.
Another fantastic version of our whale project. I love seeing how each child brings their own unique color palette and style to the same theme.
This beautiful ocean scene was created with watercolors. It's a great project for learning about wet on wet techniques and how to control the flow of the paint.
During Janmashtami, our little artists created these stunning Lord Krishna paintings on canvas using acrylics, learning about cultural art forms.
This vibrant Ganesha painting was made with oil pastels. Students learn how to blend the rich colors to create smooth gradients and bold designs.
A lovely landscape created with oil pastels. This medium is perfect for beginners as it's direct, colorful, and doesn't require any drying time.
About Canvas & Paint Explorations
We keep our painting batches small, usually 6 to 10 people, because art should not feel like a factory line. Whether you are working with acrylics on canvas or playing with oil pastels, you get the space to make mistakes and actually learn techniques like layering and blending without any pressure or cleanup stress.
How We Approach Painting
At YoungPlum, we believe that painting is about the process, not just the finished product. We do not care if your lines are perfect. We care that you enjoy the feeling of the brush against the canvas and the way colors mix together.
What You Will Explore
- Acrylics: Perfect for bold, vibrant colors. We teach you how to build up layers and create texture so your work has depth.
- Oil Pastels: These are fantastic for beginners because they are direct and require zero drying time. They are great for blending and creating rich, gradient effects.
- Watercolors: We explore wet-on-wet techniques to create dreamy, ethereal effects, teaching you how to control the flow and transparency of the paint.
