Outdoor Yoga and Nature Flows
There is a unique rhythm to practicing under the open sky. I guide these sessions to help you ground yourself by connecting with the energy of the sun, moon, and earth, bringing mindfulness to every breath.
Moving with Chandra's energy, I flow with the moon. Under the moonlight, every movement and every breath feels like magic, completing the cycle with gratitude and stillness.
I prefer to start my week with a yoga flow under the open sky, taking in the fresh air and energy. Even when the sun hides, I connect my breath, body, and nature in my morning ritual.
On International Yoga Day, I honor the ancient wisdom that connects mind, body, and soul. From the mat to the mind, every breath is a reminder to return home to yourself.
Here are three variations of Surya Namaskar, or Sun Salutation, practiced on the beach at sunset. Each one offers a different way to honor the sun and energize the body.
I surrender to the quiet air, welcoming the soft sunlight. My sadhana mat upon the ground, I find peace and love. Gratitude flows, calm and true, for a week of purpose born anew.
For a true spiritual practitioner, sunrise is not just the start of a day. It is a silent awakening, a call to presence. This is my morning practice by the water, welcoming the light.
Sunrise yoga energizes us and sets a positive tone for the day. Join me for a class to experience the benefits of waking up with the sun and moving your body with intention.
Get up early, take in the sunlight, and move your body with the sun to energize yourself for the day. This is my sunrise Ashtanga Vinyasa flow, connecting with the fire within.
Have you ever witnessed the beautiful sunlight in the city of gold? I love overcoming laziness, taking a quick shower, and sitting in meditation with the first light of day.
Each dawn, a fresh day is born anew. The sun rises, painting the sky in hues. Gratitude fills the air we breathe, with blessings in every ray, a gentle wreath.
About Outdoor & Nature Flows
Practicing outdoors requires flexibility, not just in your body but with the environment. I typically schedule these flows during the cooler morning hours in Dubai to ensure we can focus on alignment without the midday heat. Whether we are on the beach or in a quiet park, my focus is on using the natural landscape to deepen your awareness of breath and steadiness.
Nature is the best teacher we have. When you move on a mat spread across sand or grass, your balance naturally shifts. You become more attuned to the ground beneath you and the air around you. In my outdoor sessions, I combine Vinyasa and Hatha techniques, adapting to the specific space we are using. We might focus on Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) to align with the rising sun, or slow, deliberate movements that mirror the calm of the setting moon. These sessions are perfect if you feel stuck in a rut and need to break out of the four walls of a studio. We work on Ujjayi breath to build internal heat, which is especially grounding when the breeze is cool. I conduct these flows in various locations across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, ranging from serene beachfronts to quiet pockets of greenery. You do not need to be an expert to join; I will help you modify poses so they feel steady and comfortable, regardless of the terrain. If you are tired of the same indoor routine, these outdoor flows offer a chance to reset your perspective and find a bit of that quiet peace right here in the city.
Geetanjali Lukhurakhan
Hi, I'm Geetanjali. I find my own stillness by connecting with nature's rhythm, and I love helping others find that same sense of calm under the open sky. My practice is rooted in the belief that when we step outside, we naturally begin to breathe a little deeper and think a little clearer.
