Yoga is an internal journey, not just a physical exercise. Here, I share the specific breathing and cleansing techniques I use to help you align your mind, body, and soul.

A demonstration of Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing) by a resort pool. This simple pranayama technique is incredibly effective for balancing the brain's hemispheres and reducing stress.

Practicing Udyan Bandha (Abdominal Lock) while sitting in a flowing stream in Rishikesh. This advanced kriya tones the abdominal organs and directs energy upward.

In this video, I explain how to practice Bhastrika Pranayama (Bellows Breath) to strengthen your lungs, which is especially useful for high-altitude treks or dealing with city pollution.

About Techniques for Inner Balance: Kriya & Pranayama

Most people come to me looking for physical flexibility, but the real transformation starts with the breath. Whether you are dealing with city stress or preparing for a high-altitude trek, mastering techniques like Anulom Vilom for nervous system regulation or Udyan Bandha for abdominal toning is how we clear internal blockages. It is not about performing perfect poses; it is about learning how to pause, reset your nervous system, and find your center from the inside out.

Understanding the Inner Landscape

In the chaos of modern life, sab log kuch na kuch ikattha kar rahe hain (everyone is gathering something), but we rarely pause to check our own alignment. My approach to Kriya and Pranayama is simple: use ancient wisdom to solve modern problems like anxiety, poor posture, and shallow breathing.

Core Practices

  • Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing): I often teach this to help balance the brain's hemispheres. It is the quickest way to calm a racing mind, lower stress, and improve mental clarity. You will see me practicing this even by the pool—it is portable, simple, and effective.
  • Bhastrika (Bellows Breath): For those living in cities like Delhi, pollution and poor lung capacity are major issues. I use Bhastrika to strengthen the respiratory system. It is particularly helpful for acclimatizing before heading to the mountains.
  • Udyan Bandha (Abdominal Lock): This Kriya is about toning abdominal organs and directing energy upward. It requires patience and consistency, but the stability it provides to the core is unmatched.

Why Practice Matters

Yoga isn't an escape from reality; it is a way to face it with clarity. You do not need to be flexible to start—you just need the willingness to show up. Whether we are practicing in a studio or by a flowing stream in Rishikesh, the goal remains the same: Samatvam Yoga Uchyate (Yoga is balance). If you are feeling misaligned, let’s start with a simple breathwork session.

I believe yoga is an internal journey. My role is to help you align your mind, body, and soul—much like how a car’s wheels need alignment to run smoothly. I have spent over a decade learning and teaching these practices, and I am here to guide you toward finding that same silence within.
