Ballet and Yoga Philosophy for Mindful Movement
Movement is a journey, not a destination. Beyond the ballet barre, I integrate yoga and healing practices to build a holistic approach to strength, flexibility, and self-confidence.
Beyond the ballet studio, I lead wellness and yoga retreats. This schedule shows my commitment to a holistic approach to movement and well-being, incorporating practices like pranayama and asana that also benefit my ballet students by enhancing their flexibility and focus.
About Additional Work & Philosophy
My teaching approach at IFBC Studios, Saket, blends technical ballet foundations with the mindfulness and recovery benefits of yoga. I don't treat these as separate disciplines. If a student is finding a ballet position challenging, we often pause to work on core stability or breath control through yoga-inspired drills before trying the movement again, ensuring that everyone learns at their own pace.
My philosophy is simple: movement is for everyone, regardless of where they are starting. In my classes, I combine rigorous ballet technique with the grounding benefits of yoga. This integration is designed to build a body that feels capable and strong while actively preventing the common injuries associated with repetitive dance training. It is about understanding how to move with intention.
When I teach, I focus on the process. We use imagery and gentle cues to understand anatomy. You might hear me talking about 'putting your chapatis' rather than reciting rigid terminology. This helps children and adults alike connect with their bodies without the stress of needing to perform perfectly from day one.
My work spans from weekly ballet and yoga sessions in Saket to wellness retreats. Whether you are coming in for a weekly class or joining me on a retreat, the core remains the same: showing up for yourself. For those joining my ballet sessions, expect a focus on barre work, center training, and proper alignment on our professional sprung dance floor. For yoga, we prioritize flow, breath, and recovery.
If you are a parent looking for classes, my sessions focus on creative movement for kindergarten students and technical foundation for ages 7 to 13. We do not just teach steps; we build confidence. We work on pirouette preparations and conditioning, always ensuring the environment is encouraging rather than restrictive. I invite you to reach out via WhatsApp to discuss which batch or session aligns best with your goals.
