Special Events and Dojo Life
Beyond the daily training, our dojo is a space where we build bonds, host guest experts, and make memories. See what life looks like in our karate family.
We were honored to host Lt. Col. Vivek Pahwa, a fellow Sensei, at our dojo. Here he shares his experiences about self-defense in the Indian Army with our students.

Students sit in rapt attention as they listen to our guest, Lt. Col. Vivek Pahwa. These sessions provide valuable lessons on discipline and real-world application of self-defense.
We believe in learning from diverse experts. Sensei Vivek's visit was an invaluable opportunity for our students to ask questions and learn about life in the army.
About this collection
Life at our dojo extends far beyond the tatami. Whether it’s hosting guest instructors like Lt. Col. Vivek Pahwa for specialized self-defense workshops or gathering for team-building summer camps, we create opportunities for our students to learn and connect. These events are where the discipline we practice in Kihon meets real-world camaraderie, helping our students grow not just as karateka, but as a community.
We treat our dojo as a living space for growth. When we host guest experts, it’s about giving our students a broader perspective on martial arts. Hearing from someone like Lt. Col. Vivek Pahwa, who has applied karate principles in the Indian Army, helps our students understand the practical gravity of self-defense and the importance of a disciplined mindset.
Our summer camps are where the hard work shifts into high gear. During these sessions at locations like Purva Belmont, we focus on functional fitness—cardio, core strength, and agility. But we balance this intensity with team games and communal meals, which is essential for fostering the 'karate family' atmosphere we cherish.
Consistent training in Kata and Kumite is the backbone of Shotokan, but these special events keep the fire alive. They allow students to step out of their usual routine, challenge their limits, and see how their karate practice translates into confidence and teamwork. Whether it's a belt grading day or a fun conditioning workshop, every event is a step forward in their journey.
