We peel back the layers of our design studio, where materials, narratives, and spatial experiences converge. Explore how we translate abstract ideas into award-winning environments.

Our founder, Ram Sinam, discusses how we visualize and narrate the ColourNext trends through design. The video explains our philosophy of using space, material, and abstraction to build non-linear stories that provide a fresh frame of reference for new ideas.

We are thrilled to share that our space design for ColourNext 2023 was awarded a Blue Elephant at the Kyoorius Design Awards. This video is a celebration of our entire team and the collaborators who were part of this journey in creating award-winning spatial design.

We are proud to announce another Blue Elephant from the Kyoorius Design Awards for our ColourNext 2024 space design. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our team, clients, and collaborators in pushing the boundaries of communication design.

As guest curators at Raw Collaborative, we brought together artists and designers for the 'Intersection' exhibit. This image shows a collection of ceramic and wood objects, a testament to the shared spirit and generosity of our collaborators.

We believe every tiny aspect of a design adds a layer of meaning. This close-up of a fabric detail from the 'Cherish' exhibit shows our attention to printing techniques, dye colors, and textures, which are fundamental to our narrative experience design.

Our founder in conversation with the artist Walter D’Souza at the Raw Collaborative exhibit we curated. This sculpture, created from small waste plywood pieces, represents the kind of material ingenuity and storytelling we seek to foster in our collaborations.

The visual identity we designed for Asian Paints ColourNext, seen on the exterior of the exhibition pavilion. The new identity and tagline allude to the intelligent reading of an ever-evolving data landscape, reflecting the core of the yearly forecast.

A curated display from the 'Intersection' exhibit at Raw Collaborative. The space features large textile art pieces alongside a sculptural wooden boat, showcasing the dialogue between different artistic mediums and our role in fostering design collaboration.

A detail from the 'Cherish' installation, where the theme is printed on a translucent fabric panel. This demonstrates our focus on integrating the narrative directly into the material palette of our experiential designs.

A curated display of furniture and textiles at the 'Intersection' exhibit for Raw Collaborative. The arrangement against a raw brick wall highlights the beauty of handcrafted objects and our passion for design collaboration.

About Our Studio & Process

Our process rarely follows a straight line because we treat each project as a living dialogue between materials and the people who inhabit them. Whether we are weaving copper wire or mapping digital projections, we invite you to look closely at our methods, including the collaborations and structural experiments that define our work.

At Wari Watai, our design studio operates at the intersection of material research and narrative architecture. We do not just build structures; we craft environments that evoke a specific emotional response. Our award-winning work for the Asian Paints ColourNext pavilions illustrates this approach, where we translated complex trend forecasts into immersive spatial narratives. These projects, recognized with Kyoorius Blue Elephant awards, demonstrate our commitment to rethinking the exhibition space not as a static display but as a moving story.

Beyond large-scale pavilions, our practice is deeply rooted in guest curation and collaborative art, such as our work with the Raw Collaborative Intersection exhibit. We believe in the power of bringing together diverse voices to create a singular, unified spatial language. Our studio in Koramangala is where we experiment with fiber art, copper sculptures, and recycled materials, constantly testing how texture and light influence perception. If you are looking for design that prioritizes emotional resonance over standard aesthetic trends, we are ready to build that story with you.
