About The Process: Behind the Scenes
What you do not see in the final campaign is the intensity of the fitting day. That is where I spend hours aligning hemlines, adjusting jewelry, and ensuring the silhouette matches the model’s walk. When we arrive on set, the structural work is already solved, leaving the crew free to focus purely on the energy of the shot and the visual mood.
Great fashion imagery is rarely an accident; it is the result of systematic creative direction. My process begins long before the camera starts rolling. Whether I am collaborating with industry veterans like Tarun Khiwal on a shoot or directing a model's movement for a watch campaign, my role is to ensure coherence between the garments, the lighting, and the brand identity.
The Anatomy of a Shoot
- Conceptualization: I start by developing a visual mood board that dictates the theme. This sets the tone for everything that follows, including set design and color palettes.
- Casting & Fitting: A garment is only as good as the person wearing it. I oversee model selection and manage intensive fitting sessions to ensure every piece fits perfectly. For runway shows, this includes managing model lineups to match music cues.
- On-Set Logistics: The reality of a shoot is fast-paced. My kit is always prepped with pins, tapes, and sewing tools for quick-fix alterations. I handle backstage management, which means constantly monitoring garment fall, lint checks, and press-readiness so the team can focus on the creative flow.
