We design campuses as living ecosystems where infrastructure breathes, fosters curiosity, and facilitates the organic flow of learning and interaction.

At Amity University, Mohali, we designed a campus to be a catalyst for innovation. The layout places the R&D block at its core, surrounded by classrooms and collaborative spaces to ensure knowledge flows freely, balanced with wellness and recreational zones for a holistic student experience.

An interactive classroom at GL Bajaj University, designed to engage and inspire. The tiered, semi-circular layout optimizes sightlines and encourages dialogue, creating an inclusive and immersive learning environment where ideas take center stage.

The grand, curving staircase at Rishihood University, Sonipat, serves as a central architectural feature. It connects floors within a large, open-plan space, encouraging movement and visual connection across different levels of the institution.

The design for Amity University, Mumbai, is an interplay between built and open spaces. Large glazed openings flood interiors with natural light, while landscaped atriums and courtyards act as spillover zones and enable visual connection between multiple floors.

The entrance lobby at Amity University, Mumbai, is designed to be a welcoming and open congregation space. The use of natural materials, indoor plants, and a central seating arrangement creates a calm yet impressive entry point to the campus.

This walkthrough of EuroSchool in Pune shows how a campus can shape both learning and well-being. We integrated tech-enabled libraries for focused study with open fields and play zones to encourage sports, creativity, and connection among students.

The faculty lounge at BML Munjal University in Haryana, featuring a coffee counter and varied seating areas. We design these spaces to encourage informal discussions and interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty members in a comfortable setting.

The main atrium at Rishihood University, Sonipat, featuring a sculptural wooden staircase and polished marble floors. This space is designed as a central hub, connecting different parts of the campus and fostering a sense of community.

About University Campus Design

Our design approach centers on the in-between spaces—the atriums, wide corridors, and courtyards. We treat these as vital architectural interventions, not just transition areas, transforming them into spillover zones for social exchange and collaboration that often dictate the actual culture of a university.

University campus design requires a deep understanding of how institutional structures influence human behavior. Since 1964, our practice has treated every campus as a living ecosystem rather than a collection of static blocks. We design for the rhythm of learning, ensuring that infrastructure supports not just academic delivery, but the social and collaborative habits that define a student experience.

Our methodology integrates technical precision with spatial fluidity. In lecture halls like those at GL Bajaj University, we move away from static rows to tiered, semi-circular layouts that optimize sightlines and dialogue. This adaptability is critical. By using movable furniture and modular acoustic ceiling panels, we allow a lecture hall to transition into a workshop space within minutes.

The library is the heart of any campus, and we design these to function as dynamic research hubs. We zone these areas into glass-enclosed quiet corners for deep study and open, tech-integrated zones for group work. Abundant natural light, carefully calibrated LED illumination, and acoustic treatment are standard, ensuring the environment remains conducive to long hours of research.

We place immense value on spillover spaces. At Amity University, Mumbai, and Rishihood University, the atriums and central staircases act as communal lungs. By creating large, glazed voids that connect multiple floor levels, we foster visual connections between students and faculty, encouraging informal mentorship and interdisciplinary exchange.

Beyond spatial planning, we emphasize environmental responsiveness. Our designs use passive techniques like thermal mass and natural ventilation to reduce energy loads, ensuring that these large institutions remain sustainable long-term. Whether retrofitting an existing campus or planning a greenfield site, our objective remains to build structures that are intentional, resilient, and capable of fostering a genuine culture of discovery.
