About In the Ring: Technique & Drills
At our club, you will not find fancy gimmicks. We prioritize the basics—your footwork, your guard, and the snap in your punches. If you join a mitt session, expect to work until your technique is precise and your reactions are sharp. I do not care how tired you are; if your hands drop, we start the set over.

Boxing is not just throwing punches; it is a calculated effort of distance, timing, and raw grit. At Veer Savarkar Boxing Club, located opposite Shivaji Park, we train students ranging from kids to aspiring pros to focus on the technical details that win bouts.
Our Methodology
We follow a traditional, no-nonsense coaching style. Our training sessions (typically 60-90 minutes) are structured to build a solid fighter’s foundation:
- Pad Work & Mitt Drills: This is where we calibrate your speed and coordination. You will learn to execute specific combinations (like 1-2-Slip-2) until they become muscle memory.
- Shadow Boxing: Used to warm up and visualize opponents. It is the best way to master your footwork without distractions.
- Heavy Bag Rounds: Essential for building power and endurance. Here, you learn to throw punches with purpose, not just hitting for the sake of it.
- Defensive Fundamentals: Boxing is about hitting and not getting hit. We dedicate significant time to head movement, slipping, and maintaining a high guard.
Who We Train
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to compete in DSO or SFA tournaments, our facility is equipped for growth. We use 25mm EVA puzzle mats for safety and provide access to a full-size ring for controlled sparring. You do not need to be an athlete to start, but you must be ready to put in the work. Come prepared to sweat, listen, and push your anaerobic threshold. If you have the drive, we have the coaching to help you find your rhythm.
