Meet My Musical Family & Live Band
Music is a conversation, and on stage, it’s all about the connection. This is the band of brothers and sisters who make the magic happen—from our Carnatic roots to global jazz fusion.

Another fun backstage moment with my musical family. The energy and craziness are just as important as the focus and intensity we bring to the stage.

About The Band: My Musical Family
When you book us for your event, remember that we aren't just plug-and-play. Because we blend acoustic Carnatic instruments like the mridangam with western synths and drums, we require a dedicated 60 to 120-minute sound check before your guests arrive. It takes time, but it’s the only way to get that perfect balance where the flute and bass sit together clearly in the room.
Our Sound, Our Family
I don’t just hire session musicians; I perform with my closest friends. This band is a family that grew out of a shared love for Carnatic roots and the wild freedom of global fusion. Whether we are playing a quiet private dinner or a loud festival stage, the dynamic remains the same—we are listening to each other, improvising, and having a conversation through sound.
How We Can Play For You
We generally offer two ways to bring our music to your event:
-
The Traditional Quartet: This is our 4-piece setup, perfect for intimate settings where you want that pure, classical, and semi-classical feel. It’s Varijashree on vocals and flute, a violinist, and two percussionists (Mridangam and Khanjira/Tabla). It feels acoustic, warm, and deeply rooted in tradition.
-
The Global Fusion Experience: This is our full 6-piece band. We bring in the western rhythm section—drums, bass, keyboards, and synths—alongside our Indian instrumentation. This is high-energy, contemporary music that works beautifully for corporate events, modern festivals, and large celebrations where you want that 'wow' factor.
Practical Details
We perform across Bengaluru and travel across India for shows. We are comfortable in venues like Windmills or grand halls like Chowdiah Memorial Hall.
Because of the complexity of our instrumentation, we do have specific technical requirements. We work with a dedicated FOH (Front of House) sound engineer to ensure the mix is just right. If you are planning an event, let’s talk early about the venue's acoustic capabilities and the technical rider. We want the sound to be as honest and moving for your guests as it is for us on stage.
Varijashree Venugopal
I perform with a close group of musicians who are more than just a band; they are my family. We share a deep love for Carnatic music, jazz, and folk, and we bring that same joy and connection to every stage we step onto.
