Building upper body strength is a journey, and the bars and rings are where the magic happens! From learning your first hang to mastering hip circles, our coaches are here to support every swing. 🤸‍♂️

This clip shows the diversity of our training, with a coach performing a floor skill and another spotting a young child on the high bar.

We use a variety of equipment to build strength, from parallel bars for push-up drills to the high bar where a coach assists a student with a pull-over.

This video shows a gymnast practicing a cartwheel while another gets help from a coach on the bars, demonstrating our multi-activity class structure.

Our coaches provide hands-on support to help students master skills on the bars, like this handstand and a supported hip circle.

A coach assists a young student with a pull-up on the bar, a great exercise for building the upper body strength needed for gymnastics.

Two gymnasts practice their leg lifts while hanging from the bar, an excellent core-strengthening exercise.

A young boy works on his L-sit on the rings, a challenging hold that builds immense core and arm strength, with his coach spotting him.

About this collection

Mastering the bars and rings is all about building core stability and grip strength safely. Our coaches are always right there, providing manual spotting to ensure every swing, pull-over, and hip circle is practiced with control and confidence. You won't just be hanging around; you will be building the foundational power needed for every other skill in the gym.

Bars and rings can look intimidating, but they are the absolute best way to build functional strength for both kids and adults. We break every move down into manageable, bite-sized progressions. It starts with simple hangs to build grip strength, moves to supporting your body weight, and eventually, learning dynamic transitions.

Whether you are working on a simple pull-over or a complex back hip circle, our NIS-certified coaches guide your technique every single step of the way. We focus heavily on spotting, which means we are right there to catch, support, or correct form so that every athlete feels safe enough to push their boundaries. It is not about being a pro on day one; it is about gaining the confidence to hold your own on the apparatus.

What you will work on:

  • Grip & Hang: Essential for shoulder stability and forearm strength.
  • Transitions: Moving smoothly from hang to support positions.
  • Coordination: Timing those hip circles and swings.
  • Spotting Assistance: Hands-on guidance to keep practice safe and productive.

We run these sessions at our Kudlu Gate facility, where we keep the environment fun and non-judgmental. If your child is struggling to get that chin over the bar, do not worry. We use drills and games to build the necessary power gradually. It is a marathon, not a sprint, and we love seeing that moment when a student finally nails a move they have been working on for weeks! ✨
