Every advanced skill requires a strong foundation. This is where our gymnasts build the core stability, explosive power, and flexibility needed to safely master complex tumbling and apparatus routines.

Strong cores make strong gymnasts. Our classes always include conditioning work like these side planks to build the stability required for every apparatus.

Building back and leg strength is non-negotiable. These conditioning drills might make our gymnasts grumble, but they are crucial for powerful tumbling and safe landings.

Flexibility is just as important as strength. We guide our students through bridge exercises and other stretches to improve their range of motion for skills like walkovers and back handsprings.

These synchronized squat jumps are a great way to build explosive leg power for vaulting and tumbling, all while working together as a team.

About this collection

Let’s be honest: conditioning isn't the most glamorous part of class. You will see our gymnasts grumbling through plank holds and leg lifts. But this is exactly where the magic happens. We prioritize these 30-minute strength sessions because a gymnast with a weak core cannot protect their joints during high-impact landings. It is the repetitive work that makes the exciting stuff possible.

Why Conditioning is Non-Negotiable

Gymnastics is a high-impact sport. We train our students to be powerful, but that power is dangerous without the stability to control it. Our conditioning sessions at the Kudlu and Electronic City centers are designed to bulletproof our gymnasts against injury.

Apparatus-Specific Strength

We don't just do general workouts. We tailor our drills to the requirements of the apparatus:

  • Floor and Vault: We focus on plyometrics and explosive leg drills to improve spring and vertical height for tumbling lines.
  • Bars and Beam: These require significant upper body and core endurance. We use specific circuit training to build the grip strength and stability needed to hold positions on the bars.

Flexibility as a Performance Tool

Flexibility is often mistaken for just being able to do the splits. For us, it is a performance tool. Increased range of motion in the shoulders and hips allows for better form in leaps, jumps, and walkovers. We guide our students through active stretching that improves both passive flexibility and the dynamic control needed during competition.

The 'Level Up' Approach

We understand that intensity can be intimidating. That is why our NIS-certified coaches introduce these drills in a progressive, step-by-step manner. Whether your child is in our developmental squad or training for national meets, the conditioning volume matches their skill level. We keep track of progress through monthly assessments, ensuring that every gymnast builds the strength to reach their next level safely.
