Flexibility and Gymnastics Conditioning for Kids
Before the flips and tricks, we build the core strength and flexibility that keep our gymnasts safe and ready for the next level.
Assisted stretching is a key part of our flexibility training. Here, a coach helps a young gymnast safely deepen her split against the wall, improving her range of motion.
The bridge, or back arch walk, is an excellent exercise for improving spinal flexibility and shoulder strength. Our students practice this regularly to build a strong foundation for backbends and walkovers.
A whole line of students practicing their bridge walk together. This group drill builds flexibility and endurance while creating a motivating and synchronized training environment.
This collage highlights the incredible flexibility our students achieve through dedicated practice, showcasing splits, backbends, and other impressive poses.
Flexibility is key. This collection of photos shows our students working on their splits in various positions, a testament to their hard work and our focused stretching routines.
From balance poses to flexible backbends, this collage demonstrates the wide range of skills we teach to develop well-rounded and capable gymnasts.
Stretching day is a team effort. Students work together and with coaches to improve their flexibility, pushing their limits in a supportive and safe way.
About this collection
Flexibility isn't just about bending, it is about control. We use wall-assisted splits and bridge walks to ensure every stretch builds actual functional strength. You will see our coaches right there with the kids, helping them deepen their movements safely while maintaining proper form, whether they are working on a simple bridge or pushing for a deeper split.
At Elite Squad, we believe that every champion started as a beginner who learned to hold a proper handstand. Our approach to flexibility and conditioning is built on the same 'bevu belladante' philosophy we apply to everything: a mix of discipline and fun.
Building the Basics
We focus on essential movements that create the foundation for all tumbling skills. Our conditioning drills include:
- Bridge Walks: Crucial for building shoulder stability and spinal flexibility. We don't just ask kids to bend; we teach them how to walk and control their arch.
- Wall-Assisted Splits: A safe, structured way to increase range of motion. By using the wall for support, children can ease into the stretch without the fear of overstretching.
- Handstand Holds: We use wall-assisted drills to build the endurance required for holding a handstand. This is the cornerstone of all advanced gymnastics skills.
Why Conditioning Matters
Gymnastics is as much a mental sport as a physical one. By strengthening the core and improving coordination through our mind games and focused drills, we prepare children for more advanced moves like back handsprings or saltos. We constantly remind our students, 'Eradu kaalallu jump madabeku' (you must jump with both legs) and 'Soft aagi land aagbeku' (land softly). These aren't just corrections; they are the technical habits that prevent injury and create grace.
Training Environment
We train at Infinity Fitness Studio in Banashankari Stage II, using a dedicated space with high-density EVA mats and artificial turf. Whether your child is joining us for our multi-activity sports camp or our specific gymnastics conditioning classes, they will be in a group that cheers, spots, and encourages every single gain.
Elite Squad Gymnastics Academy
We are Elite Squad, and for us, a gym is just a family that likes to move. We don’t just teach gymnastics; we cheer, spot, and goof around until a kid nails that back handspring.
