About South Indian Weddings
When I shoot a traditional wedding, I focus on the rhythm of the rituals rather than just the setup. I look for the way the temple lamps catch the light during the thaali ceremony or the shared glance between you and your partner when the crowds quiet down for a moment.
Shooting across Kerala and Bangalore has taught me that no two weddings are ever the same, even when the rituals remain consistent. Whether it is an intimate ceremony at a local temple or a grand celebration in the city, my goal is to document the day as it unfolds.
I avoid staging moments. If your ceremony has chaotic, joyful energy, that is exactly what I will capture. If it is a quiet, solemn occasion, I work with natural light and candid framing to preserve the mood.
I am deeply familiar with the nuances of various South Indian traditions. You do not need to walk me through every step or explain the significance of a ritual; I understand the timeline and know exactly when to position myself to get the shot without interrupting the sanctity of the moment.
My approach combines:
- Ritual Documentation: Keeping a sharp eye on essential ceremonies like the thaali tying or the exchange of garlands.
- Candid Storytelling: Focusing on family interactions and the small, unplanned gestures.
- Portraiture: Taking a few minutes to get timeless, elegant portraits of the couple that do not look stiff or forced.
If you are planning your wedding in Kerala, Bangalore, or anywhere else in India, I am ready to travel. Let’s create images that actually feel like your day.
