About The Heart of Dakshin: South Indian Weddings
Capturing a South Indian wedding is about managing the pace of the rituals while staying invisible. With my 4-person crew, I make sure we have dedicated eyes on the sacred traditions like Talambralu or the sindoor application, while someone else focuses entirely on the spontaneous family reactions in the audience.
Our Approach to Tradition
When I document a South Indian wedding, I don't just stand back and watch. I know the rhythm of the ceremonies because I have lived them. Whether it is a traditional Hindu wedding in Bangalore or a classic celebration in Kochi, I focus on the connection between the couple and the sacred space they are in.
The Logistics
I believe in transparency about how we work so you know exactly what to expect on the wedding day:
- The Crew: We operate as a 4-person team. This includes one candid photographer, one traditional photographer, one cinematographer, and one traditional videographer. This ensures we cover both the artistic portraits and the required documentary footage.
- Coverage: My packages are built around 10-hour continuous blocks. This covers the prep, the rituals, and the reception without forcing you to rush through events.
- Deliverables: You receive your final assets in a custom wooden box, not just a digital link. This includes a 12x15 inch flush-mount premium album and a full cinematic film that tells your story chronologically.
Why South Indian Weddings
Being based in both Bangalore and Kochi gives me the unique ability to travel easily across both regions. I understand the importance of specific rituals like the Kanyadaan or the traditional exchange of garlands, and I capture them with the respect and attention they deserve. My goal is to provide images that feel like a piece of home, capturing the culture exactly as it unfolds.
