A 6,000 sq. ft. retreat in Assagao, Goa, where tropical nature meets quiet luxury. Every space is a dialogue between light, local hand-crafted items, and the rhythm of the coast.

We are thrilled to share our project, Villa Shai, featured in Elle Decor. This serene Goa retreat embodies our vision of harmonizing design with nature, with every corner bathed in natural light and connected to the lush outdoors.

Unveiling a hidden sanctuary in Goa. This living space at Villa Shai seamlessly blends nature, comfort, and sustainable living, with an exposed brick wall, natural wood beams, and comfortable furnishings that invite relaxation.

The entryway at Villa Shai sets a tone of rustic elegance, featuring a console table with concrete-finish legs and a wooden top, adorned with tribal art and artifacts. This space received an Honourable Mention at the International Design Awards (IDA).

Our 3D visualization of the Villa Shai entrance. This concept shows our initial plan to create a lasting first impression with a bespoke console, curated artifacts, and a fluted wood panel to frame a unique painting.

The double-height dining and living area at Villa Shai, which received an Honourable Mention at the IDA. The open-plan design creates a sense of grandeur, while the mix of materials keeps the space grounded and inviting.

At Villa Shai, every corner tells a story of local craft. This vignette features a custom sideboard and a collection of handwoven baskets from Goan artisans, reflecting our commitment to conscious choices and connection to place.

Our 3D render for a bedroom in Villa Shai. The vision was to create a space of calm luxury, with a sloping roof to create volume and a neutral palette that mimics the sand and shores of Goa.

About this collection

Creating a space like Villa Shai was not just about picking finishes; it was about managing the humidity and salt air of Goa while keeping the interiors feeling light and airy. We used solid teak and natural stone because they age gracefully in this climate, developing a patina that adds to the character of the home over time.

Villa Shai in Assagao is more than a residence; it is a response to the Goan landscape. We prioritized high ceilings and large windows to allow for cross-ventilation, which reduces the need for constant air conditioning. By working with local timber and stone, the materials feel grounded in the earth rather than imported or artificial. The layout flows through common areas, allowing family members to stay connected while maintaining private retreats.

Our focus was on durability. In a coastal environment, the wrong material choice leads to rapid degradation. We chose finishes that thrive in high moisture, ensuring the design remains beautiful for years. The Honourable Mention from the International Design Awards reinforces our belief that thoughtful planning produces global-quality results. Whether you are building a holiday home or a primary residence, the goal remains the same: a living space that feels like a natural extension of yourself.
