Ridge View, New Delhi: Vibrant Apartment Design
A look into a home where bold colour meets natural light. Ridge View shows how urban spaces can feel open, functional, and full of life.
The living room at Ridge View, where botanical print wallpaper mirrors the greenery outside. We used soft blue sofas and curated lounging chairs to create a sanctuary for quiet moments, with a striking deep blue shelf housing books and memorabilia.
The dining space at Ridge View celebrates form and color. A centrally located, bean-shaped table adds a touch of spontaneity, creating a spot for interaction that flows seamlessly into the rest of the home.
Every home has a piece that steals the show. In Ridge View, it's this deep blue console. A bold nod to the client's love for color, it anchors the space while housing an eclectic mix of books, art, and travel finds.
The bedroom at Ridge View is personal and expressive. A neutral canvas allows vibrant elements like the canary yellow accent chair to take center stage, while a herringbone wooden panel on the ceiling adds a touch of drama.
The smallest guest bedroom was reimagined as a multi-functional den. Wrapped in deep blues and playful patterns, it serves as a study area and hobbies corner, with light oak furniture keeping the space open and airy.
The walk-in closet at Ridge View is positioned along the hallway. Tall, mirrored shutters open into a space rendered in soft brown tones, with a mix of wardrobes and drawers to neatly store the client's collection.
About this collection
You might notice the deep blue console in the entry; it was a deliberate choice to ground the space. In a city apartment, finding the balance between having enough storage and keeping the floor plan open is the real challenge. We tackled this by designing custom pieces that serve dual purposes, like the dining table that invites conversation without crowding the room.
Designing for Ridge View required a focus on how to make a city apartment feel both energetic and calm. We started by looking at the natural light, which is our greatest asset. To manage the storage needs without cluttering the layout, we placed the closet along the hallway and used mirrored shutters to reflect the space. The den, which functions as both a study and a reading corner, shows how even small areas can become multi-purpose rooms with the right placement of furniture. We intentionally used wood and natural materials to maintain a connection with the outdoors, even when the project is in a dense urban setting. The vibrant blue accents provide a contrast to the neutral walls, ensuring the home feels lively rather than sterile. Our approach relies on understanding how a room will be used daily rather than just how it appears in a photo. We build for the user, ensuring the flow between the living, dining, and private areas feels natural.
