About Sanctuaries of Leisure: Resorts & Villas
In our Kasauli holiday home projects, we replaced traditional air conditioning with underfloor radiant heating and cooling systems. This allows the architecture to stay thermally comfortable naturally, keeping the interior calm and devoid of intrusive mechanical noise or clutter.
Our approach to leisure architecture begins with understanding the land. Whether we are working on a riverside property in Dehradun or a coastal plot in Goa, we look for ways to harmonize the built environment with the existing landscape.
The Biophilic Approach
We prioritize biophilic design, which goes beyond simply adding plants to a room. It is about how light enters, how wind flows, and how the materials respond to the seasons. For instance, in our mountain projects, we utilize stone load-bearing systems and timber ceilings to ground the structure within the rugged topography, ensuring the home feels like it belongs to the mountain, not just sits upon it.
Material Honesty
We avoid flashy, artificial surfaces. Instead, we select materials that age with grace—exposed concrete, brick, and natural stone. These materials do not lose their integrity over time; they acquire a patina that adds character. In our Goa villa projects, we incorporate modern geometric facades that frame the paddy fields, balancing privacy with an open, airy flow that captures tropical breezes.
Technical Integration
While the aesthetic is rooted in traditional textures, the technical execution is contemporary. We specialize in concealing modern infrastructure like HVAC systems and electrical grids within the architecture. This ensures that the focus remains entirely on the experience of the space, whether you are looking out at snow-capped peaks or a private lap pool.
